About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

I finally got to use my Cuttlebug!

I have wanted to get the Cuttlebug for sometime for the embossing folders. I used to have to do it the "old fashion" way. I bought it about a week ago and I just haven't gotten around to using it. It is amazing how much detail it adds with simply a turn of the wheel! I used the distressed stripes embossing folder.

I do alot of baking year round actually so I assume people will defintely be expecting some goodies from me this holiday season. So this card will come in handy when I pair it up with some fresh goodies from my kitchen.

This image as well as the sentiment is from Nina May over at There's Magic in the Air. Nina gives away free images weekly so you can enter her contest so stop on by & snag the image while you can...don't forget to leave a "Thanks" comment and show her some love!!

This card fits some great challenges so if you have time, make sure to stop on by these blogs to enter and snoop around..or shall I say Blurfing..a new term that I just learned ~ For those who are like me and had no idea what that meant it means blog surfing...makes sense!

There's Magic in the Air I used Nina's image as well as her sentiment.

  3. Lisa, just a beautiful card and the blessed person to receive this card with some fresh goodies from your kitchen will be one extra special person! That gold trim around your image is just beautiful, I was trying to figure out if it was sewing or glued on? The embossing folder is suttle but adds some great texture! Gotta just love those folders and I agree, what wonderful stuff with just a turn of the handle! Also, read your side bar and I just also want to say I am soo sorry to read that your family had to go through such a traggic thing it so touched my heart and then to read you now have twin girls, what a blessing in that. ((big hug)) to you. What a heart touching story you have. Thanks again for playing along with this weeks challenge over at TMIT and hope to see you next week!

  9. Lovely card, Lisa. The double layered punched edge gives it great depth. The leaf buttons are cute and the embossing is a great touch. (Have fun with the cuttlebug...wait to get some Nesties! Then you'll be addicted for sure! I rarely make a card anymore that doesn't require the use of my cuttlebug! Congrats!) :) Can't wait to see what you do next week!
