About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

LOTS OF LAYERS..think I nailed it! lol

Good morning everyone!  Today starts a new 2 week Linky Party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme for this challenge is "LOTS OF LAYERS".  When I started this I just couldn't stop...lol so I think I may have overqualified! However I do love the outcome.  So let's just say I am an overachiever!

The paper I used for this card is from October Afternoon.  I thought the adorable Groundhog stamp called POPPED UP would be perfect for these papers.

I kinda just made my own card on this one, I had to since I was designing it freehand so no normal base would fit it.  I can't believe all the different dies I used on this one!!

Of course I had to make it an easel card to further go with the "popped up" theme.  This card is pretty big. I just kept layering because I would find another great die I wanted to use. If you don't have it already the MINI BANNER die is a wonderful little die to add to your collection, and only $1.99 I might add!

I did cut out several layers of the HI and glued them together to give it some height.  I also popped up the Fancy Stitched Label mats on the inside with foam tape as well as some other elements on the card.

I sure hope that you come on over and play along with us!

Now for your viewing pleasure, my very long list of supplies I used on this card! lol

Spring is on the way........

Good morning y'all! This post gives me some hope that this frigid weather we are having will be over soon.  I surely wasn't made to be an Eskimo, that's for sure! The only bonus to cold weather is staying inside and getting "stuck" in my craft room!! lol

Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters. My crafty Sistah' Darlene is hosting the challenge that starts today.  She picked a theme of "THINK SPRING" which I was very happy to jump all over that one!

I wanted to dig in my stash and use some of my older products.  The flowers and mason jar are from PaperTrey Ink (as well as the sentiment on the jar). The sentiment in the top right corner is from a company that is no longer in business.  I colored the jar with my copics and then stamped the sentiment.  I cut it out and covered it in some Glossy Accents.

Next I stamped the flowers on some card stock and colored those in as well with my Copics finishing them off with a clear Wink of Stella marker as well as some Glossy accents on the leaves.  The paper I used is Botanical Gardens from Graphic 45.  I fussy cut a butterfly to add to the bunch of flowers.

I hope you all get in the mood for SPRING and play along with us over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.
HAPPY CRAFTING,
LISA

Throwback Thursday

Good morning! I am here today to share with you my creation that I made for a Throwback Thursday post I am hosting today over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  I choose the adorable TOTALLY TURTLE stamp set to feature as an oldie but goodie! lol The presents I used on this card came from another older set called ALL ABOARD

To achieve this scene I used Post It note paper along with a masking technique. One of my favorite paper pad CDD carries is the HIP HOP HOORAY paper pad by Doodlebug so I based the color scheme around that.  To finish the card off I added some Glossy Accents, OH MY STAR sequins as well as one of my new favorite pens the Silver Star Gelly Roll Stardust (to the strings on the balloons).

Don't forget that a new Linky Party started on Monday over at Craftin' Desert Divas!  The theme is Nature's Wonder.  I hope you come on by and play along with us!

Nature's Wonder

Good morning everyone!  Today starts a new challenge over at Craftin Desert Divas. The theme is " Nature's Wonder".

To create my card I used my Fancy frame dies on some watercolor paper to create a base. Then I used some Tim Holtz distress inks as well as my Tim Holtz distress markers and Spritzer tool. Next I used my Fancy Stitched Label dies to create some layers.

For the center I used the oval die from Fancy Stitched Labels and used a masking technique to get the arrangement of flowers I wanted (flowers are from  Busy Bees). The sentiment and turtle are from the adorable SLOW stamp set. I also used the grass from the Outdoor Landscaping dies and the label die combined so I could get the grass to fit perfectly in the label shape.

Warm Thoughts

Good morning y'all! Hope you are all staying warm and safe!  It is been horrible over here!!
Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters, hosted by my fellow Sistah Terri.  It is VERY fitting for this time of year I'll say!! lol

The challenge is called "WARM THOUGHTS".  We are asking you to create a project based around what keeps your warm during these chilly months.  Hot Cocoa, Blankets, quilts, coffee, mittens, etc. etc.

For my project I created a card with an adorable sock monkey with earmuffs digi I got from Craftin' Desert Divas which you can find HERE. I colored him with my markers and added some sparkle with my Wink of Stella pens (which is hard to see in the photo) and then added an appropriate sentiment from my CHILLY stamp set. The paper came from a paper pad by Bo Bunny that I recently picked up called the Altitude collection.

The challenge lasts 2 weeks.  I sure hope you come on by and warm up with us over at the Sisterhood!

Have a great day & Happy Crafting!

Hearts

Good morning y'all! Today starts a new linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme is "HEARTS".  I had so much fun making this card.

I started with coloring the newly released adorable skunk called "SCENT". To make the layers of the card I used my Fancy Frame dies as well as my Stitched In Circle dies. I masked my skunk and stamped some of the hearts from the Sweet Wishes stamp set behind him. Next I cut out several of the LOVE arrows from the Heart of Heart dies and glued them together.  I think it was about 6 or 7 layers.  I wanted to give it some height. My idea was to keep it simple for once, I have to say I am happy with how it came out!

I sure hope you stop on by and play along with us over at Craftin' Desert Divas!  Have a great day!
