About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Stamptacular Sunday Bonus Challenge ~ Build-A-Card

Oh the fun I had playing this challenge!! I love the idea of the "scavenger hunt" challenge. This challenge was for Stamptacular Sunday's Bonus Build A Card challenge. We had to visit 10 blogs and each blog held an item that we had to include on our card.

The items we had to include were:

#1 The color blue
#2 An oval
#3 Something matted
#4 stamped image-used the dainty little butterfly from my Peachy Keen PK-249 Honey Hugs & Bugs set
#5 2 more colors other than blue
#6 Ribbon
#7 Flowers - used my Prima flowers
#8 a charm
#9 Sparkle - did this with Stickles and putting a little bling in the middle of my flowers
#10 a friendship saying - the minute I saw this Raggedy Ann & Andy popped into my head. I know you can't see this in the picture but the saying is raised with mounting squares.

Doodle Palace & The Next Level Challenge

I recently brought my twins home in the most adorable outfit that they were given as a gift. It was different shades of pinks, green and white. It had two frogs on it along with ruffles on the but..just to cute!! I said that one day I was going to scrap a page with them in the outfits and use the color theme. Well I took the inspiration from that outfit and used it to fulfill two challenges! It is really late and my time is limited with twins. After cutting out all of my embellishments I realized that they didn't fit on the card the way I wanted. It was to late for me to even have the brain power to figure out how to cut the size I needed. Thank goodness for wireless keyboards because they come in handy when you are trying to type and nurse my babies at the sametime...and my husband doesn't think I multi-task???
I used this card for the Doodle Palace Challenge as well as The Next Level.
The challenge for Doodle Palace was to use the colors of the website (pink & green)and for The Next Level it was to follow the sketch provided and have a 3D layered effect. I made the adorable frogs with my cricut New Arrival Cartridge and stamped them with my Peachy Keen PK-740 Baby Faces n More! stamps. I then raised them with mounting squares in addition to raising the hearts they are holding even further with some more mounting squares...I know you can't see it in the pictures but it adds alot of depth to the card.

We had to use three embellishments that they had listed. I actually used four - eyelets, fibers, ribbon and buttons. I am not sure how to put a link to their site other than the way I have it here..sorry!

The Pink Elephant - TPE Challenge #23

This is my submission to the Pink Elephant's #23 challenge. This was a color challenge and you had to use red, light blue and dark blue. Since I just had twins I need a bunch of Thank you's to send out to people who gave me gifts. So for the challenges I am challenging myself to use scraps and to make them Thank you's when possible. That way I kill two birds with one stone! I love using my scraps because it makes my mind work harder..and these days that in itself is a challenge.

I used various left over scraps of which I am not sure of the brand name. I also used:

Prima Flowers ~ Sprites 2
Spare Parts denim brads ~ by the Paper Studio
Peachy Keen Stamps ~ PK-200 Cow Peeker and Face Package
Cricut cartridge ~ Beyond Birthdays 3 1/4" for the Thank you
Mounting squares ~ I used mounting dots to raise the Thank you mat as well as the cow for a 3D look.
Ribbon
Markers

I had a blast once again using my Peachy Keen Stamps!

Peachy Keen Challenge #4

Okay here is my first submission to a challenge here on the blogs. The card below is for Peachy Keen's Challenge #4. First I would like to say that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Peachy Keen Stamps. The quality is outstanding and defintely 5 stars!! You barely have to press down in order to get your image and the designs are just to darn adorable!

Here is a direct link to her online store:

Or you can click on the bouncing peach to go to her challenge blog.

As for my first card/challenge that I am submitting. I must say it was a bit hard to make while nursing my twins on my lap. But since I missed the deadline on CHallenge #3 I was determined to finish this time! I used the following supplies:

PK-239 Faceless Fruit

PK-740 Baby Animal Faces N More

Nana's Nursery Baby Girl paper by DCWV

Black embossing powder

Red & Green colored markers

Mounting squares

The challenge to myself is to use my scraps only..which is a good thing since I have bins of them! I used black embossing powder to emboss the strawberries and their adorable little faces. Then I colored them in with red and green markers. I unfortunately do not have those fancy Copic markers but hopefully I will soon! I cut the stamped images out and used mounting squares to make the images 3D which unfortuantely does not show up in the pictures. I also used the mounting squares to raise the mats that the strawberries are set on.

Thanks Kathy for giving us these adorable stamps to work with!

Hello All!
As you can tell I am new to all of this so bare with me. I started this blog to share my scrapbooking "adventures". Scrapping has been my way to deal with the tragedies I have endured in my life. I also hope to somehow turn this blog into some sort of support system for those who have lost their loved ones. I have had to fight to recover from my injuries, to deal with the death of my only two children, and most importantly fight for justice...You can not kill two children and walk away without any ramifications and it seems like that just may very well happen. One day I hope to have some sort of organization in my childrens memory. I would love to lend any support to anyone who has suffered a loss because if I heard my story I would say that there was no way I would be able to survive such a tremendous loss. Don't ask my how but somehow my husband and I get up everyday. I believe that it is our children that are giving us the strength to deal with Mikey and Annie's death. Plus we have received so much prayers and support I KNOW that has also helped us cope. PLEASE...reach out to me if you have any advice to deal with such pain or if you need help coping. I know the future may look bleak but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
