About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

I just love the dies that CDD now carries.  I find myself using them on almost all of my projects! For this card I used Sky is the Limit dies (for the clouds) as well as the landscaping dies for the grass.  The giraffe as well as the zebra are from this release and the elephant is an older stamp set (released this year) called IT'S ALL ABOUT ZOO.  The sentiment on this card came from that stamp set as well.  The paper I used is from Doodlebug's BABY BOY paper pad.  To give the card dimension I added lots of layers and used a ton of Foam tape as well. Some elements on the animals were accented with glossy accents but it is hard to tell in the picture.

I have included links to all the CDD products I used down below.

Christmas in July!

Good morning everyone! Today starts a new linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  We are celebrating Christmas in July.

The first idea I had was to make a snow globe and turn it into a shaker card.  The reindeer was from the NOVEMBER FREEBIE stamp set and the sentiments came from SIMPLY CHRISTMAS.  The snow globe base came from Too Cute By Jessica'S LET IT SNOW SNOWGLOBE which I altered to fit my needs.  The stitched tag die is from the TAG Essentials die set.  To make the snow hills I used the OUTDOOR LANDSCAPE dies.

The bad thing is before you shake the card you can't make out the many snow hill layers I have inside. To add some bling to the card I used a sequins mix that will be released shortly ( a little sneak peek for you all!!), Spectrum Noir markers, Glossy Accents, Stickles, and two of my Doodlebug Sprinkles set called Red, White & Blue as well as Birthday Boy.

This card is almost a 6x6 in size and it is very heavy due to all the layers. I used so much foam tape and mounting dots to add the dimension I wanted to the card.

Simply Moovelous

Hello Everyone!  Today starts a new linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme for this challenge is "BIRTHDAY".

I broke out some of my CDD stamps and used some masking techniques I learned from my online card making class.  I used my Simply Moo-velous stamp set for my main images.  I used The Sky is the Limit and Simply Said stamp sets as well. For the bottom sentiment I used a die from Tag Essential Die set. To color my images I used my Spectrum Noir Markers as well as some Wink of Stella markers.

I hope you come on by and play along with us!

Happy Crafting!!

Just for fun!

Crafting always picks up my spirits so I broke out some of the sequins that were just released over at Craftin' Desert Divas as well as some of their stamps and dies to make these two shaker cards.  I think, just maybe I am getting addicted to making shaker cards!! They are so much fun!!

These cards are a little over 5" wide.  I used lots of foam tape so they stick out as well.  I colored the images with my Spectrum Noir markers and added a touch of Glossy Accents.

I used the elephant from IT'S ALL ABOUT ZOO and the sentiment is from SAY IT BIG on this boy inspired card. The sequins I used were SHINE BRIGHT and DEW DROP which I mixed together.

I loved this elephant so much I had to do a girl version of it as well.  Again I used the elephant from IT'S ALL ABOUT ZOO as well as SHORT & SWEET TAGS and SUGAR & SPICE .  The sequins I used was STAR POWER.

One of the things I picked up over there is their Acetate Shaker Bundles.  I got the one that you got two packs of sequins with, but they do have a bundle available with no sequins.

Best part of this post is this, CDD has an amazing sale going on right now.  20% off and free shipping!  You can click HERE for full details and stock up and save! The sale ends tomorrow so don't miss out!
