About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Wish you were here.......

Hello All! I wanted to pop in and share a card with you that I made with a super fun stamp set that is being showcased today over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  It is part of the release that will be unveiled this weekend.  Now I will give you a little wink, wink and tell you that there is a peek of something that you will get to see tomorrow.

This release is soooo darn fun and super, duper cute!!! You will love it! My biggest problem was trying to decide what to do first.  For this project I busted out my Echo Park SUNSHINE paper pad and some nesting circle dies to make this circle card.  I combined it with the CDD Shaker Bundle pack and Emerald Isle Sequins. The darling little starfish and bucket are from a new line of 2x3 stamps that CDD will be carrying.  The sand that I used I made with the Outdoor Landscaping dies which are also being showcased today. OMG I can't tell you enough how awesome these are!! I cut my circle out and then used the die to make the sand so it fit perfectly into my circle. The sun stamp is from the Sky is the Limit stamp set and I used the matching die set (sold separately) which you can find HERE. Around the edges I used Doodlebug Red, White and Blue Glitter Sprinkles.

For a final touch I used some Glossy Accents on the front of the acetate as well as on the starfish itself.  The only problem then was that it gave such a glare it was hard to get a good picture!!

I hope you come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks of another fun stamp set from the June CDD release!

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Celebrate Freedom!

Good morning y'all!  Today over at Craftin' Desert Divas starts a new linky party challenge.  In honor of  Independence Day the linky party theme is Fourth Of July.

For this project I made a little treat bag as well as a card. CDD now carries a huge selection of craft supplies along with their stamps and embellishments. I picked up a bunch of these bag which are the 1x8" treat bags you can find HERE. I found these fun Red, White and blue M&M's at the store and new right away I wanted to use them for the treat bags.  I made a little topper of sorts by using the oval and star dies from the BANNER dies set as well as a sentiment from CELEBRATE FREEDOM.

I broke out my Doodlebug Patriotic Picnic Paper Pad as well as my Doodlebug Red, White and Blue Sprinkles to make this card.  Again I used the Banner dies to make the layers on the card and since it was a fireworks themed card I thought it would be fun to use the Sun Die from the Sky is the Limit die set to kinda give a burst sort of shape.  I turned it into a shaker cards with the help of the Shaker Bundle.  To make it a shaker card I added a mix of the Red Velvet, Sapphire Sparkle and Skyline Steel sequins.

Come on over and show us your Patriotic side and play along with our new challenge!

Goin' Buggy at the Sisterhood

Hello World!! I have been without internet for almost 5 days.  I feel like I have missed out on so much!! lol  It is funny how dependent we become on certain things.

Well to celebrate my entering back into Cyber World, I made some projects to go with a new challenge that starts today over at the SISTERHOOD OF CRAFTERS.  Our Sistah' Terri is hosting the challenge and has chosen a bug theme. She is asking that we create a project with a bug on your project.

I bought this paper probably 7-9 years ago and figured it would be about time I used it. For the stamps I used my Craftin' Desert Divas JUST BUG-Cause stamps along with their matching DIES.  The snail and the caterpillar are my favorites...never thought I would say a bug was cute!  To color them in I used my Spectrum Noir Markers and some Stickles.  I turned some scraps into two tags using my CDD Tag Essential die set along with a matching card.

The yellow square which all the sentiments are one is a die included in the Tag Essential set. I added a red heart sequins for a pop of color and love from CDD's LOTS OF LOVE SEQUINS.

I sure hope you come on over to the Sisterhood and get buggy with us!  Have a great day & HAPPY CRAFTING!

Showing some Fatherly Love

Good morning everyone!  Today is a new challenge/Linky Party starting over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  To be honest when I saw the theme my stomach was in knots.  I don't know why but I tend to struggle with masculine cards.  Do you use ribbon? Or is that to girly? Do you use buttons or is that to girly...etc. etc.  However once I started going on this card it just flowed together so easily.  To me, that shows that CDD has amazing stuff!! For me to easily conquer something I am not good at says a lot about a product.

This card is a pretty big card, 6x6 in size.  When you open it the HAPPY FATHER'S DAY sentiment pops out.  Really fun and different.  The base of the card is from SVG CUTS Day with Dad kit but I changed some things about it to fit what I needed.  I fell in love with the colors and patterns of this masculine paper so I decided to design it around that.  I took the stars from the background and decided to bring that forward by using the stars from the BANNER DIE set.  I embossed the sentiment on the front in white is from SENDING LOVE.  For the bottom I used the Doodlebug Birthday Girl Sprinkles since they matched the closest.

The inside of the card when opened.

When you open it up I added the smaller banner die as well as the oval die.  On the oval die I stamped another sentiment from Sending Love and added some hearts from Sew Raggedy stamp set.  It is hard to see in the picture but there are many layers that are popped up for dimension.  I am in love with the new black foam squares Craftin' Desert Divas now carries.  I am in awe of the sturdiness and quality of them. If you are not aware, Craftin Desert Divas now carries a wonderful line of craft supplies.  It is so convenient to get items in one place especially since I don't have those type of things for sale by me.

I sure hope you come on by and play along with our Father's Day Linky Party.  Have a great day!
