About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

When life gives you a rainy day.....

Hey y'all! I am back again to share another project with you that I made with my CDD products.

One of my favorite things to do lately is to get lost coloring. That is where CDD's digi's really come in handy.  I literally made my very own Adult coloring book with a bunch of the images.  I selected several and printed them out so they would be ready for me when I wanted to kick my feet up and color.

My favorite thing about digis is the fact that you can size them to whatever size you need for your project.

I designed this card to fit the adorable PUDDLE DUCK digital stamp.  I used the stitched oval die from the newly released Fancy Stitched label die set for the sentiment. To distress the tag a bit I stamped it on watercolor paper and inked it up with my Tim Holtz Weathered Wood distress ink and then spritzed it with some water.

When I saw the sentiment from the Rain or Shine stamp set I knew it was just perfect for my card!!  For the scalloped layer with the rainboot design I used my Fancy Frame die set. The Doodlebug Matte Sprinkles in the corner came from the new LOVE assortment, I just love these!!!

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!
Hugs,
Lisa

Baby Shower favors

Good morning everyone!  I am here with you today to share some baby shower favors I made with some of my CDD stamps. I thought these would be cute for a shower that the baby's sex was unknown.

I found this cute tutorial to make these baby carriages to hold Hershey Kisses online HEREI had to make some changes to fit my needs.  I wrapped the kisses in pink and blue foil so they would match.
Since the Hershey Kisses were wrapped in foil on top of the original foil (to save from spending extra money on the ones that come already pink or blue) they were slightly larger. For the wheels I used my Sending Love stamp set on the center of the "wheels".  To make the tag I used my Fancy Frame die set and then stamped the crown from Busy Bees and the sentiment is from the Say it Big stamp set.

To finish it off I used my Tim Holtz Spritzer and Distress Markers as well as some small ribbon flowers.

Here is a close up of the baby carriage favor without the tags.

I hope you enjoyed my little favor that I shared with you today.  I will be back tomorrow with another project to share with you that I made for my daily post on the Craftin' Desert Divas blog.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!
Hugs,
Lisa

LOVE L.E.T.T.E.R.S.

Good morning!  Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  The challenge is called
LOVE L.E.T.T.E.R.S.

We are asking you to create a project with the word LOVE on it as well as a heart

I just recently purchased the new Doodlebug Sweet Things paper pad and fell in love with the sentiment on one of the pages.  I used some circle dies to cut out several layers to mat around the design.  I then created a gatefold card of sorts to fit my cut out.  I used my scalloped edge punch to give the trim a bit of a design.

Next I used several of the hearts that I cut out with my new Heart of Hearts Die from Craftin' Desert Divas and scattered them all over the card.  Inside the card I used my rectangle stitched die from my Fancy Frames die set which is also from Craftin' Desert Divas. This is a larger size card which measures about 6x6 when folded.

I hope you come on by and play along with us over at the Sisterhood of Crafters!

Have a great day & Happy Crafting!

Hugs,
Lisa

I stamped my images on the center oval die layer with the adorable images from the new Kitchen Cuties stamp set that was released yesterday. New SHAPED CARD linky party at CDD

Hello everyone! There is a LOT going on today over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  Today starts a new linky party as well as the sneak peeks for this month's stamp and die release. OMG the dies alone are to die for (no pun intended!! lol).  One of my fav's so far!! But I can't say anymore, you will have to tune in today and the rest of the week for more info on that.

The linky party that starts today has a theme of SHAPED CARDS.  I did manage to sneak in an early peek for you all of one of the dies by using it on this card.  Actually I used both of them!! lol  Fancy Stitched Label dies and the Heart of Hearts die sets.

To create the card base I ran it only partially thru my Big Shot so it didn't cut the top, leaving me with a card shaped base.  I then used my new Doodlebug Sweet Things paper pad which is brand new and now carried by CDD. The hippo I colored came from HIPPO BIRDIE .  The sentiment I made from masking off  the "MORE" from the I LOVE YOU MORE stamp which came from the SENDING LOVE stamp set and added the word "TONS" from the ANIMAL ANTICS set since it matched perfectly. You can tune in later this week to find out my little trick so to speak about getting so many different heart shaped embellishments (both in size and design). Another reason you will love this release!!

I will see you later with my sneak peek using the products being showcased today.  I hope to see you there! I will be in charge of the BINGO games in the Craftin' Desert Divas Gallery.  Hop on over to play along with us for a chance to win some great prizes.

Something Old, Something New

Hello everyone! Today is the very first post of 2016 over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.  I am honored to be hosting this challenge.  To go with the whole New Years theme I decided to do a challenge based around "Something Old, Something New".  We are asking you to created a project using something Old and Something New as well as posting which items are which in your post.

Over the past month I have been really trying to organize my craft room in hopes of being able to be more productive.  So this challenge was right up my alley!  Recently I got the Misti crafting tool and couldn't wait to try it out. I used it for both projects.

For my first project I used the Misti to stamp a PKS background stamp called Grandma's Floor.  I have had this stamp for years.  I never got a good stamp with the background stamps so I kinda put them aside.  Now with the Misti I can do that with ease!

First I embossed the background with some White embossing powder I have had for at least 8 or 9 years on some Straton watercolor paper I just bought.  I inked it in several places with a new set of mini distress inks from Tim Holtz. After I was done inking I sprayed it with water using my new TH distress sprayer.  To be honest when I got the sprayer I had buyer's remorse thinking it was a waste of money.  NOPE! Not at all...I love that thing. You get several different sprays, droplets etc all from the same sprayer.  I then added some Glossy Accents to the center parts of the designs. I tried to get a good pic of how it is raised but it was hard.

I broke out my new border dies from Craftin' Desert Divas called Mix It Up Dies as well as my brand spankin new SIZZIX BIG SHOT for it's maiden voyage.  Man I love that thing!! So much better to use than the Cuttlebug.  For the sentiment I used a old stamp set from PaperTrey Ink that I have probably had for about 7 or 8 years and embossed it in white on my die cut.

For my next project I created a star pattern with my new stamp set from Craftin' Desert Divas called ACROSS THE BORDERS.  Using the MISTI tool really made it easy to stamp repetitive columns of the same stamp in different colors. The inks I used I just got from Hero Arts Kelly Purkey's Urban mini ink set.  I just loved the color combo and based the card around them.  The sentiments came from one of my first CDD stamp sets called BRING ON THE CAKE which I embossed with some silver embossing powder that I have had forever. Last but not least I completed the card with some balloon dies from my CDD Party Dies. This was my attempt at a masculine card.

I hope you come on by and play along with us over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

Have a great day & Happy Crafting!

My first post of 2016!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I can't believe 2015 is over already.  I for one am glad.  This was not a very good year at all for me.  Here's to hoping that 2016 is filled with many blessings, good health, safety and lots of love!

Today starts the first Linky Party challenge over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme is "Let It Snow" which is very appropriate for this time of year.  However, as of yet we haven't had any snow.  I am not complaining but my girls sure are!

I wanted to play around and do something different. I am burnt out on Christmas etc so I came up with a card using this adorable bunny.  The bunny came from CDD's Hunny Bunny stamp set.  To get the hat to fit I first stamped the hat from the Chilly stamp set and then masked the hat.  Then I stamped the bunny.  I was so excited that it worked after a few tries.  Next I masked the bunny and stamped the piles of snowballs on both sides of him. After that was all done I masked off everything with either my Post-It note paper as well as my Molotow masking glue pen.

Once that was dried I stamped the stamp that resembles snow from the Across the Border stamp set all over the background.  I flipped it over and stamped in different areas to get the design I wanted.  Next I embossed it with a shimmery embossing powder and then used my Distress inks to make the background.  The sentiment and snowball pile came from the Chilly set as well.

I used my Fancy Frame dies as well as the Mix It up dies to complete the card. The heart that came from the Mix It Up dies I covered in SU Crystal Effects. To color everything in I used my beloved Winsor & Newton Promarkers.  I can't wait to get more of these!!!

I hope you come on over and play along with our challenge at Craftin' Desert Divas.  Have fun and challenge yourself to come up with something different!

Have a Great day!
Happy Crafting,
Lisa
