About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

PKS February Release challenge

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to pop in to share with you a card I made with the Peachy Keen February 2014 SOTM set.

I tend to struggle with simple cards because I overthink them.  Well this is my attempt at a simple card! lol The picture isn't the greatest since you can't see the different parts of the trees but it was gloomy out when I took it.  There is two more days to play along over at the Peachy Keen Challenge blog so don't miss out.  All you have to do is use a stamp from the February release and you can enter as many times as you want.  I have several more projects in the works and I hope I can get them done in time!

Happy Crafting!

Let's Hear it for the boys!

Hello there!  I don't know about you but sometimes I find it hard to create a card for a man.  Ribbon or no ribbon? Buttons or no buttons?  Honestly I think sometimes it's all about the paper.  If you have the right paper things just flow.  I had fun making these two cards for the new challenge I am hosting over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  The challenge is "One for the Boys" and we are asking you to make a masculine themed project.

For my first project I used the stamp from Peachy Keens SOTM July 2012 stamp set.  I created the card with a label from Too Cute By Jessica's LOT OF LABELS set by welding it in my SSDE then cutting it out.  I colored the little boy in with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I bought this stamp ions ago and have no idea who made it.  The sentiment is from a company that is no longer in business.  The papers are from October Afternoon.  The card is simple but I think it makes a statement.

I hope you play along with the challenge I am hosting over at the Sisterhood of Crafters! See you there!

Happy Crafting!

Peachy Keen Challenge

It has been awhile since I picked up my markers and played with them.  I need to do it more often because #1 I enjoy it but #2 it is so relaxing for me.  It is my way of coloring as an adult!  What better stamps to use....my Peachy Keen Stamps! OMG I love them to bits and they are so fun to work with.

I decided to play along with their new photo inspiration challenge.  Right away the colors reminded me of Summer so that is what I went with.  I used the June 2013 SOTM set and paper from Cosmo Cricket.  I added Glossy accents to the starfish to give them some "pop".  Gotta go and try to get my card done for the February Linky Party!

Heart filled with love!

I hope everyone is staying safe and getting ready/prepared for this mammoth storm that is heading our way.  This has to be the worst winter I have experienced since moving here 7 years ago.  My heart goes out to those who live by themselves especially the elderly.  Over here if we lose power we don't have heat or running water since I have a well.  Thank goodness we have a generator but still, with kids it is not fun!  So I am gonna just play with the girls and craft my little heart out if I get snowed in.  I just hope the heat stays on with how cold it is here.

It's time for another great challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  The theme is LOVE is in the Air.  Make a project or anything that has to do with Love.  It doesn't have to be Valentine's just based on love.  You will see a wide range of inspiration over at the Sisterhood to get your crafty gears going.

For my project I used some paper from Carta Bella, stamps from Paper Trey Ink and a 3D layered chipboard rose from Echo Park. I thought it would be nice to send this to someone in the mail.  When was the last time you sent a letter instead of a text or email? I know I am guilty about it so I am gonna surprise someone and send them this card to brighten their day.

Hope you all stay safe and warm.  Happy Crafting!
