About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Black, white and a splash of color linky Party over at CDD

Good morning y'all! Today starts a new Linky Party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme is Black, White and a splash of color. I used my Stitched In Circle scallop die to make the round layer.  Next I added the banner die from the Mix- It up die set which I stamped "Congrats on your new home" from the HOME SWEET HOME stamp set.

To tie in my "pop" of orange I added some of the flower sequins called FROM THE GARDEN. For the leaves I used my AUTUMN WISHES STAMP/DIE BUNDLE since they were a perfect size and accessory for my flower sequins.

I hope you come on over and play along with us over on the CDD Blog!  I would love to see your "splash" of color!!

HAPPY CRAFTING!

Hope this makes you smile.......

Good morning y'all!  Today is my day on the CDD blog to host the daily post. I was so tired of the cold weather I wanted to change the pace and have something to look forward to!! lol

To make the background I stamped the whole background with the circle stamp from the Across the Border stamp set and used clear embossing powder on it.  Then I used two tones of Tim Holtz blue inks and 2 of green to make the colors on the background.  I ended up putting glossy accents on all the circles to make it pop up with a pretty glossy look.

I colored up several of the large daisy flowers from the HOME SWEET HOME stamp set then cut them out and layered them across the bottom. I added some glossy accents as well as some Wink of Stella markers to make them sparkle.

Next I colored up a butterfly from the JUST BUG-CAUSE stamp set and popped it up above the flowers. I used the banner die from the MIX IT UP DIE set to stamp the sentiment from the GARDEN CUTIES set. To finish the card off I added some of the new Matte Doodlebug GIRL ASSORTMENT sprinkles.

Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a great day & HAPPY CRAFTING!

Dies & Punches over at the Sisterhood

Good morning y'all! Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  My Sistah' Vickie has chosen a theme of "USING DIES & PUNCHES".  The challenge lasts about 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to come on over and play along with us.

I have had this thought in my mind for some time to make this style card.  I got some new Doodlebug SPRING GARDEN Paper pad and Sprinkles that were just released and for some reason when I saw the paper I thought, "Heck I am gonna do that idea!"...lol I thought it was perfect for this challenge theme.

Close up of the stitched dies.  Sadly it doesn't show how awesome these dies are! It even leaves the stitching on the negative piece that you don't use.

First I used my Double Stitched Scallop dies from Craftin' Desert Divas along with one sheet of the double sided Doodlebug paper.  I simply would flip the paper back and forth to use both of the patterns and to achieve the stitching in the right areas.  Next I took the HELLO die from the CDD Pocket Pieces Hello die set in solid black and put it in the upper right hand corner.  Now I struggle big time with simple cards so I tried to to some things with the sentiment, HELLO.  Well after redoing the card 2 times and the word HELLO 7 times I gave up and said NOPE, no more for me!! Simple it is!!! LOL I honestly don't know why I struggle so much with simple card!! It should be the easiest!!! To finish the card off I used the new Doodlebug Bright MATTE Sprinkles.

Have a great day!

HAPPY CRAFTING!

Welcome to the CDD March Stamp Release Blog Hop.
All stamps are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE.

Here's what I've created for you...

To create this card I used some images from the BUILD A SCENE stamp set that was showcased on day one as well as the eggs, adorable chickie in the cracked egg and the sentiment from BUNNY TRAIL.
I scattered some of the gorgeous PASTEL PARADISE SEQUINS that are also new this week over the card.  I have been loving using my POST IT paper to create so many different scenes and looks, which is what I did here.
