About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Choooo- Choooo All Aboard!

Hi everyone!  Do you have or know of a little boy who loves his little blue engine?

I just finished this album to hold pictures of my son and his favorite Thomas trains. I was so happy when I saw this file because I bought Thomas the Tank Engine paper years and years ago waiting for the perfect time to make a layout or album for his pictures.

The file is called Funny Trains and can be found  HERE at Too Cute By Jessica.  There is a sale right now and the file would only be $1.13 (with current sale)!! I am not sure when sale ends.

My beloved Peachy Keen Stamps came to the rescue with their 4" face stamps.  I made the album large so I could make it big enough to hold 4x6 photos and lots of other goodies.  Didn't realize I made it so big for the face stamp that I picked out to fit!! I have a bad habit of doing that.  But I remembered I had my 4" PKS stamps and let out a sigh of relief.  I used PK-490-3 Everyday Character 4" face stamps for the face of the train.  Kinda like a smarty pants smirk which pretty much sums up my son! lol  He was full of energy and love! I think this would also make a great gift!

Die-Cuts and Punches

Good morning everyone!  I am happy to be hosting a challenge over at the
Sisterhood of Crafters for the next two weeks.  The challenge is to use Die-Cuts or Punches.  I have to say once I started looking at my stash the ideas kept rolling in.  It was hard to decide on one.  What I love about using punches or die cuts is the fact it makes it a great way to use up your scraps.

I found some scraps from a project I made recently and came up with this tag.  Everything (including paper and ribbon) on this project was made from leftovers and scraps.  The paper was from MY Mind's Eye Kate & Co. and the sentiment was from PaperTrey Ink.

I punched out several butterflies to fill the scrap size of paper that I was using.  I popped up a couple of the butterflies to give it some dimension. Then I darkened up the edges with some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.

These are the punches that I used.

I sure hope you stop on by and craft along with us at the Sisterhood.

Christmas in July PKS/KBD hop

Hey everyone!  We are having a super fun Christmas in July Facebook Fanpage hop with Peachy Keen stamps and KaDoodle Bug Designs.  Today is the last day of the four day hop.  You don't want to miss out since there are some amazing prizes be given out.You can find day one of the hop on Facebook HERE .

I wanted to make a small gift for the holidays to hold these Christmas cow pens that I have in my stash.  I tried to turn the Golf Bag from SVG Cuts Fun and Games kit into something that resembled a barn.  To add some detail I used some Sizzix and Tim Holtz embossing folders.  I was gonna keep all the contents inside but last minute I thought they would look cute sticking out.

After taking the photos I went back and added some detail to the cow with paint.  It was to dark to take all new pictures so I took a close up and included it, just slight details to make it pop. I got a little help and the idea from an amazing friend!

Celebrating birthdays

Hello everyone!  I am here to share with you my project that I made for the new challenge being hosted by my fellow Sister Darlene over at the Sisterhood of Crafters. It's all about Birthdays! The challenge is to make any project that is based around BIRTHDAYS.

Since I always have the best intentions to get my cards out on time somehow I am always behind. So I thought I would use a Belated birthday stamp. Sadly I think I need a bunch of these in my stash!! I used this super fun Cupcake card that made it fun to use my scraps. I am going to go back and make a bunch more because these cards are too cute not to and a great way to use my scraps!

A little birdie told me that our Sister Darlene's birthday is next week.  So if you can drop her some love for hosting a great challenge as well as leaving her some birthday love!

Have a great day and HAPPY CRAFTING!

Supplies Used:

Paper: Graphic 45 & various scraps

Be Inspired with Craftin' Desert Divas

I was honored to be a Guest Designer at Craftin' Desert Divas this month. All month I featured a newly released stamp set called BE INSPIRED.  I had so much fun working with these and they stamped perfectly!

For my last project I made two box cards that I thought fit the sentiment perfectly. I used the Just Breathe and Hang In there sentiments. Love the fact that these fold flat for mailing.  I think these would hopefully lift someone's spirits.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Be Inspired Stamp set - Craftin Desert Divas
Paper: Echo Park - Sweet Day
SVG Cuts - Box cards

All American!

I finally finished up the last of my Red, White and Blue projects I have been working on.  This adorable baseball hat/box is from SVG Cuts Fun and Games kit.  It is sooo cute and super easy.  I saw the sentiment from Craftin' Desert Divas Snips & Snails set and knew that the "A Star is Born" sentiment would be perfect for it!! How cute would these be for party favors for Showers, birthdays etc.  I simply cut the sentiment to give it a pennant kinda look.

Perfect to stuff with a gift!

There is one more day left to link up to the Craftin' Desert Divas linky party, I made it just in time.  You can too! There are tons of prizes. Click HERE for the Craftin' Desert Divas linky party.

Baby Boy Block Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far.  I finally am feeling like myself again so I am determined to get caught up.  Not only on cleaning but in my craft room.  I am trying to do things that I have pinned or bookmarked.  I found this super fun and cute Block card on youtube by Papercrafter45.  It is so fun and simple to make.  The coolest part is it folds flat so you can ship it. I will add a tag to the back so I can write a message to the person I am sending this to.

The papers I used are by Graphic 45's line By the Sea. The adorable puppy is from KaDoodle Bug Designs Salty Dogs file that you can find HERE. And right now there is a sale so the file would only be $2.63! The sentiment I used is from Craftin' Desert Divas SNIPS & SNAILS stamp set which you can find HERE.  They are having a Red, White and Blue linky party so I am gonna link this up to it since I think it fits the bill.
