About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Some new Shabby Chic projects

Good afternoon everyone!  I am gonna keep this brief because I am to excited!! I want to start playing with some new SVG's I got and have a million ideas in my head.  And if I don't act on them soon I will forget them all..sigh! I wanted to share with you 2 projects I made with my Shabby Chic Stamps.

I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers ions ago on making a corner bookmark. You can find the one that I used by clicking HERE.  I never got around to it until today.  I used my BUNNY LOVE stamp set and some Nesties to make this.  I thought it would be a beautiful reminder that when things are quiet and you are relaxed reading you will know that some-bunny loves you.  It doesn't have to be Easter oriented.
My adorable little Chick-a-dee also came from the BUNNY LOVE set.  I paired it with the candle from the BUILD A CAKE set and the sentiment from the GREETINGS set.

Having some fun!

I don't know about you all but my craft room is far from neat.  Actually it is really, really, really far from neat.  I can never find anything especially a pen.  I am always making things for everybody else but this time I decided to make something for little ol' me.  I had a lot of fun with it and just played around. This is what I came up with, I doubt I would be able to lose them now! LOL actually strike that...
All the files I used to make this project were SVG's from SVG ATTIC.  I cut out the bottom of the recipe box from the KISS THE COOK set and scaled it down to 94 DPI on my Make the Cut program.  Then added some different DP all around the box (sorry I forgot to take a picture of all the different colored paper on the sides).  The feet I hot glued on are from Tim Holtz.  Once the box was assembled I sat there and first thought of making it into a seed packet holder.  I was going to put it all together and fill it with different kind of seeds and wrap it up as a gift.  But then I got selfish and wanted to make something for myself.  So I grabbed some pens that were laying around the house and wrapped them in ribbon.  I cut out 3 daisies from the Welcome Spring set and layered them into 2 flowers.  The butterfly is also from the Welcome Spring set.  I cut out one base and two top layers.  I took the first layer and glued it directly onto the base, then took another top layer and only glued it down the middle and raised the wings a bit.  The word BLOOM is from the Spring Captions set.  Now my darling little lady..she makes me laugh.  She is actually the scarecrow lady from the Thankful Friends set because I thought I could turn her outfit into a garden looking themed dress.  To give the dress a little pizzazz I added a bit of lace to the bottom trim.  Her hair is actually 3 hair cuts that I "weaved" together LOL.  Actually I cut out 2 of the scarecrow hair styles (one in to small of a size) and another hair style from the Indian girl.  Since I used my "good" paper I couldn't just throw those cuts away so I played around and trimmed them all to give her some fuller hair.  That adorable little chubby face is from  Peachy Keen PK-450 Wide Eyed Kids stamp set.
This is how the stamps look outside of the box.  To hold the pens in place I cut down a piece of flower foam and covered it in some green filler that I bought on clearance a couple of years ago. Now I just used whatever pens I had around the house.  But you can use new pens and make this as a really cute gift for someone, especially someone who works at a desk.  I had a lot of fun with this one...hope you enjoyed it!

I'm in total and complete LOVE!

Okay for those who know me know I love to bake.  So when I saw this set from SVGAttic.com I just went bonkers!!! The new set is called KISS THE COOK and if you click on picture you will be brought to the SVG ATTIC store.  Or you can click on the link below.  I can't wait to play with the whole set but I wanted to share with you my first project making the oven.  I thought it would be cute to do instead of a card for someone who is having a baby and put a gift card in it so that is what I did. I took the numbers from Shabby Chic Stamp Co.'s Build a Cake set and used them to stamp in the time.  A cute idea would be for the time to put the persons birthday day, wedding date, due date etc etc. These could be favor boxes for baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and/or party favors for any occasion.  Maybe you just want to send a little sweet gift to someone.  Well this box comes with a cupcake insert!!! Yay baby!!  I will be posting some more pics this week of my projects using this kits.  You know that recipe box would make such cute gifts for teachers or family.

This is what I made with the Kiss The Cook set.
The sentiment is from the GREETINGS stamp set.  I used a paper punch from Stampin' Up! to get the matting for the sentiment.

The door opens and inside you can put a note, a cupcake or a gift card.  Whatever strikes your fancy.

Celebrating Birthdays!

Good morning ladies & gents.  I am here to share with you a great challenge that we are having over at the Sisterhood of Crafters starting today.  It last for two weeks so I hope you can play along.  We are asking you to make a birthday card or a gift for a birthday.  Super easy and we all need those in our stash that's for sure.  What's even better is one lucky winner will receive a stamp set from Shabby Chic Stamp Company called BUILD A CAKE.  For those of you who follow my blog that is the set that I have been using for a couple of projects lately.  It can be anniversary, birthday, congratulations, or you can simply use the flowers and make an everyday card.  It is a wonderful addition to have to your stamp collection.  But you have to be in it to win it!

Here are two cards that I made with the set.  If you go back further you will see some additional cards I made earlier with it.  It is really a great set.

For my first card I wanted to showcase the flowers. The sentiment for both of my cards I used from the GREETINGS stamp set from Shabby Chic Stamp Co. The paper is from Echo Park I believe and the jar and bow are from Paper Trey Ink.
This card I paper pieced the cake and colored the trim with my Copics.  Let's Celebrate is pretty general which I love because you can pull it out of your stash for several different occassions.

I sure hope that you play along with us this week over at the Sisterhood.  See you there!

Day 3: Happy Birthday and a SALE!

Hello everyone!  I have a card to share with you for the last day of the Shabby Chic Stamp Co. blog hop.  You know that saying "When life gives you lemons you make lemonade!" well this card is proof of that.  I finished this card late at night and just as I went to put the cap on the ink pad it dropped straight on my finished card.  OMG I wanted to cry.  Instead of starting all over I put more black marks on the matting and redid the cake.  Problem solved right?  NOT!  After I fixed my card I went to put the cap on again and I flippin' dropped it straight onto my light colored denim jeans!!! OMG I was done....I just had to walk away before I cried myself to sleep.  So this card I guess is one expensive card! LOL

I made this with the BUILD A CAKE set as well as the GREETINGS set from Shabby Chic Stamp Company.  The paper is from Echo Park.  I took the numbers that come in the set and randomly stamped them all over to give a bit more design to the die cut in the background.  The black lines....well they are compliments of Memento...argghh...

I took this one to show all the dimension I added it to it with mounting squares.

Enabler alert!!! SVG ATTIC has there St. Patty's Day files on sale. They are 50% off and only $3.00 a set!!! How awesome is that!! You can go further back on my blog and see some projects I made with these files.  They don't only have to be used for St. Patty's Day.

Day 2 of the Shabby Chic Stamp hop

Hello everyone!  I wanted to share with you a few more projects that I did using the new stamps from the March Release at Shabby Chic Stamps.  Remember you only have until March 15th to save on the bundle so don't miss out!  Click here for all the details.

For this first one I used the BUILD A CAKE set and the sentiment is from the GREETINGS set.  I added some Pearl pen to the trim on the cake and a little pearl in the center of the flower on the cake. I am entering this one into the Stampin' for the Weekend inspiration photo challenge.
I took the lips from the IRISH LUCK set and paired it up with a sentiment from the GREETINGS set.
Lastly I used the flowers from the BUILD A CAKE set in different colors and stamped it with a sentiment from the Greetings set once again.

I will be showcasing a few more cards tomorrow using the new releases.  Till then..have fun!

Shabby Chic Stamps March Release Blog Hop

Welcome to our celebration hop of the newly released stamp sets from Shabby Chic Stamps.  If you came here from Jessica's blog then you are right on track. If not, you can click HERE to start over at the beginning.  The hop runs thru Sunday.  Many of the DT members will be posting new projects everyday to give you lots of eye candy.  I don't know about you, but I love to see what other people create.  It gets my creative juices flowing.

Before I share with you my projects I wanted to share with you a picture of all the stamp sets included in the hop.  They are on sale until March 15th if you order the bundle.  Click HERE for more details.

I came up with these projects today using just my scraps and I LOVE how they came out.  Today I am showcasing the new GREETINGS set.  I will be posting different projects Saturday and Sunday as well.  Tomorrow I will be using the Build a Cake set.
Here is a set of 6 3x3 cards that I made.  The butterfly is from the EASTER BLESSING set.
A close up of each one of the cards that are included in this set.
I packaged them up in a cello bag and made a quick tag.  Used another sentiment from the Greetings set on the tag.  This would make a cute hostess gift or a little thank you for somebody to show your appreciation.
This card was made with scraps that were left over from my bird house I posted for the SVG ATTIC blog hop (also today!).  I have to trim my paper to fit on my Silhouette mat and these stripes were left over...I couldn't throw them out because I LOVE the paper!  The pic for some reason came out kinda BLAH sorry about that!  The Congratulations from the Greeting set is stamped onto a label die from Spellbinders.

Now hop on over to Jennifer's blog to see what they have in store for you.

Welcome Spring Blog Hop

Top of the day to you!  Welcome, welcome, welcome to the WELCOME SPRING blog hop!  If you came here from Jessica's blog then you are right on track.  If not, you can start over from the beginning by clicking HERE.

When Jessica from SVG ATTIC released this set we all thought it would be fun to all do the same set to show our different takes on the same thing.  This has to be one of my best loved sets from SVG ATTIC. Even some of her customers are joining in on the fun!!

Let me tell you, I had soooo many ideas because there is so much to do with this set.  I mean come on...how fun is this???   When I started this project it was my anniversary and instantly thought of my Market Fresh Kit from Market Street stamps and decided to pair it up with the bird house file from the Welcome Spring set. The kit came with a LOVE bird stamp which fit just perfectly. If you don't know yet, the bird house is a box and the lid comes off.  I am going to make a mini album of my husband and I to put inside.  I didn't get to finish that part yet so I haven't included pictures but stay tuned I hopefully will get it done soon and share it with you all.

I just adore how this came out.  I really have to give a shout out to Stephanie who put this great kit together.  I am color challenged and waste so much time trying to match up papers and such.  But with the talent from Jessica and Stephanie I was able to make a treasured item that I will proudly display.  Thank you ladies!!! MWAH!  Without further ado, here is my project that I came up with.

I put the letter B for the first letter of my last name since it was our "house" LOL
I wanted to make a shingle roof and OMG these papers fit perfectly!!!
The ribbons on the top (very top) and bottom are from My Mind's Eye.The one along the trim of the top was included in the kit. I also trimmed the house out with some twine from My Mind's Eye. To distress all the edges I used Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo and Stampin' UP! Basic Grey on the roof.
Another view of the house.  The twigs...well I have to laugh about those.  Who has painted twigs on hand?? I do!!!  It was part of another project that I didn't finish and I broke them and threw them out.  When I was doing this project I looked down into my pail and said...HEy I could use those!  This is why I hate throwing anything out!!

Now hop on over to Bunny's blog to see what crafty creations she came up with!

Don't forget......... we are also having a Shabby Chic Stamp Company blog hop today thru Sunday so stop on back and everyday until Sunday to check out my projects!  You can also check out SVG ATTIC's Facebook page as well as Shabby Chic Stamp Company's Facebook page daily for tips and inspriation!

Did I tell you how much I love my Market Fresh Kits???

Okay  I need more paper like I need a hole in my head but since I already have 2 holes in my head I figured the 3rd's a charm! LOL  I signed up to receive monthly Market Fresh Kits from Market Street Stamps.  I never look at the preview of them except I accidentally saw the stamp for this month.  I like to be surprised.  I love to craft but I am colored challenged.  I see cards and think OMG I love it but I would of never thought to put those colors together.  So the kits come in handy.  Everything is all in one perfect little package.  I keep all my scraps in there and have them right next to my desk so I just pull it out.

This month color challenge over at Market Street's blog was pretty cool.  I pulled out my February kit and found some colors that I thought would go perfectly.  There was a little saying one a sheet filled with sentiments that I thought would go perfectly so I cut it out.  I stamped on the tweed card stock with my Vintage Wallpaper stamp in Navy blue ink from Stampin' Up!  Then I found a scrap piece of paper that was the closest to Peacock that I would get.  On that Peacock paper I stamped  again with a different color of blue.  Even the pearls were from the kit!  I did add some linen ribbon from Paper Trey ink but that's it, everything is from the kit!
Keeping with my Market Street Fresh kit theme I whipped up this card quick last night.  I used Sweet Lace as my background stamp on my Kraft card stock.  Then layered it with papers from October Afternoon (included in the kit).  The sentiment as well as the cross is from Shabby Chic Stamp Company's Easter Blessing set.  I had this left over piece of ribbon on my desk that any normal person would of thrown out but NOT ME!  I sat there wondering what I could do with it.  I knotted it on both ends and thought..hmmm I could add it to the card so I did just that.  Hope you enjoy!

More "Shabberific" stamps made with my Shabby Chic Stamps!

Happy Day to all! I wanted to pop on in and share with you some projects that I have made recently with my Shabby Chic Stamps.  They just released a new batch of stamps and I am looking forward to sharing with you all some neat projects with them so stay tuned!

And just to give you all a heads up..... SVG ATTIC has released this really, really awesome new cut file that I just adore to bits called Welcome Spring.  OMG you can make so many different things.  This Friday we are having a blog hop to showcase it all.  The DT thought it would be a cool idea that all of us use that file (can be combined with other cuts) to show what kind of designs are possible.  What is even neater none of us will see the projects until they are released.  It's killing me not to see what the other members created.  If you would like to hop along and have that file just put a post on the SVG ATTIC Facebook page that you would like to hop along and send Jessica your picture of your project in time.  I can't wait to see what everyone created!

So the girls went to bed early, dishes were done and the hubby was occupied so I was able to get into my craft room to play.  I made a few more projects.  The first set I worked with was the Shabby Chic.  I used the butterfly from the Easter Blessings set to make my own background design.

Below is a flower shaped bath sponge that I saw at the dollar spot at Target.  I stopped short when I saw that and said "Oh that would make a good cupcake."  Don't ask me why but I did.  I used the cupcake wrapper from SVG ATTIC Valentine Cupcake wrapper collection.  Figured this would be a cute little gift by itself or even shower gifts...hey no pun intended! LOL

I made this bookmark with my Irish Luck set.  I thought it would be cute to send to my friend.  I just love those free Stamp' Em's that come with the purchase of the set.  That is what I matted the stamp on (the ivory piece)....love how it is specifically made for the stamp.

New SVG ATTIC challenge

Good day to you all!  I am here to share with you a new challenge project from SVG ATTIC.  This is a month long challenge so you have time to play along.  Jessica gave us a gorgeous color combo to follow.  You need to use at least two of the colors shown below.
This is what I came up with.

It is hard to tell from the photo but I used several shades of the green as well as the ivory.  For the card I just welded two circles together and the celtic symbol is from CELTIC KNOTS.  The hat and horse shoes are from her cute ST. Patrick's day set called GO GREEN.  I used my spankin' new stamps from Shabby Chic Stamps for the sentiment.  The stamp set is called Irish Luck and can be found HERE.  To mat the stamp I used the free Stamp Em's that come with the purchase of the stamps.

We sure hope you play along with us.  Remember you have plenty of time and the reward is some awesome SVG's to pick from!
Oh and check out this fabulous and I mean fabulous new set from SVG ATTIC.  It was just released and OMG I am in love!  So many possibilities its ridiculous!   It is called WELCOME SPRING and can be purchased HERE.  What's even better, you can get this file FREE yes free with purchase.  Please see store for details.
