About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

CDD Anything Goes Challenge.

Good Morning Y'all!  Today starts a new challenge over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  It's a super easy and fun one.

The challenge is "ANYTHING GOES!".  You can't get any easier than that!! lol

For my project I decided to make a little GET WELL package to give to someone who is not feeling well. A packet of chicken soup, tissues, the possibilities are endless to put inside this adorable little box.  When I first saw this adorable mouse from TISSUE TIME I just knew I was gonna have some fun coloring that little guy.  I used my Spectrum Noir markers, Tissue Time for the mouse and the sentiment, and TAG IT for the tag (along with the matching SVG for the large tag).  The first aid box came from SVG ATTIC's Feel better set. It is hard to tell in the picture but I also used a red Wink of Stella marker as well as a yellow Glaze pen to add a bit of bling to the mouse.

I hope you come on by and play along with our "Anything Goes" linky party.

Have a great day, & HAPPY CRAFTING!

Hugs,
Lisa

Throwback Thursday

Good morning!  Today is my day to host the daily post over on Craftin Desert Divas blog.  In honor of Throwback Thursday I used one of the very first CDD stamp sets I purchased.  I used Snips & Snails to make both of these mini albums.  I used a mini album from the Silhouette Store and changed it up to meet my needs.

I made both albums in a boy theme which can be used for a baby up to a young childs age.  I added some small inserts for journaling or extra pictures.

This is the front cover of the other album.

I used several sentiments scattered in both of the albums.

Below are a few close ups of them.

I needed the sentiment to be long so I simply masked off the word "Buddy" and then masked off the other half and stamped it in a different color.

This is the stamp set that I used for both of my projects.

SNIPS &SNAILS can be found HERE.

Have a great day and HAPPY CRAFTING!

Come fly away.....With the Sisterhood!

Good morning y'all!  My life has been a whirlwind for sure, and that is an understatement. It felt so good to take a time out and sit down to play with some of my new crafty tools I picked up.  I bought a new set of punches from Martha Stewart not to long ago, but I haven't had time to play with them yet.

There is a new challenge that starts today over at the Sisterhood of Crafters with a theme of "Come Fly Away with me".  The challenge is to make anything that flies.  For example, Airplanes, kites, balloons, butterflies, fairies, insects, birds etc. Perfect timing I thought to pull out my new Punches!

I just had fun with this one.  I have recently reorganized my scrap drawers (yes, I have SEVERAL) and I have them right next to me.  I have been trying to focus on using some of them up.  Grabbed some scraps I had leftover from October Afternoon to make this card.

I cut my paper to 6x6 in order to the the all around the page border punch. I added some dimensionals to pop up the die cut/border punched paper, used my Butterfly punch on the smaller scraps and some of my PaperTrey Ink stamps.

For this card I believe the scrap that was left over of this Kite paper is from Doodlebug.  This is a smaller 4x4 card I cut and just punched one side of the card base. The sentiment is from another PaperTrey Ink stamp set.  This would be a cute card to add to a little gift or just a little note to cheer up someone's day.

I hope to see you all "flying" over to the Sisterhood to play along with our new challenge!

Have a great day, and HAPPY CRAFTING!

Here's what I've created for you today...

For some reason one of the first thoughts I had when I saw the stitch border stamp in the Sew Raggedy set was to stamp it several times in different colors.  So I took a scrap piece of paper and stamped it in several different colors. I then cut it down to make several cards/tags.

For this first one I made it into a tag.  I took the ticket stamp and svg from the TAG IT stamp set to make the base for the Made by Me for you stamp.  I was so excited how perfectly it fit.  Reminded me of those labels you can buy to sew into clothes!  The sentiment, stitch border and the heart are all from the new Sew Raggedy stamp set. I made the spool with my envelope punch board.

Next  made a spool card (again with my envelope bunch board) and another piece of the stitched paper I had stamped.  I used the adorable Rag doll as well from the Sew Raggedy stamp set.

I just adore the babies from Bitty Blessings! I made a girl version for the sneak peeks so I decided to make a boy version.  The stars are cut out (after being colored) from the large starburst stamp that is in the set. I paper pieced the diaper on the baby and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color all my images.

There is a link to this free SVG pattern somewhere in today's hop lineup.

Your next stop on the hop is ever so talented and crafty  Leah.

For this project I used the Sew Raggedy stamp set.  I actually made a bunch of these little 3x3 cards using my envelope punch board.  It is a great way to use up your scraps!! I added some color to the spool with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  All 6 that I made were using my scraps, even the card bases!!

Today we are showcasing the Hunny Bunny & Tissue Time stamps.

Here's what I've created for you.....

For my first project I made a treat box using the Hunny Bunny stamp set.  The box I used was from the Silhouette store but I altered it and added a window so the contents could be seen.  I just want to reach thru the screen and pinch that bunnies face!! Is he not the cutest????? I colored the bunny, the jelly beans as well as the label for the sentiment with my Spectrum Noir markers.

On these two little gift packs I used some sentiments from Tissue Time as well as the SVG's that match the set.  All of the stamp sets come with free SVG's which I just LOVE!!

Each little pack contains four little envelopes which hold one tea bag each.  The tutorial I used was from Pootles and you can find that video HERE.  To make each bag I used my Envelope Punch board.  I did alter it a bit, my sheer error...lol.  To tuck the flap under (in order to close it) I punched out a butterfly and then embossed it with my Swiss dot folder.

Be sure to join us tomorrow for another great new stamp set.

Today we are showcasing the BIRTHDAY EXPRESS and ALL ABOARD stamps.

Here's what I've created for you.....

To make this birthday gift box I used a milk tote file from the Silhouette store that has 6 little mini milk carton style boxes that fit into the tote.  I then used my Spectrum Noir markers to color in some of the adorable images from the Birthday Express stamp set.  It is hard to see in the picture but I also used some Wink Of Stella markers to add a little Sparkle.  I can't wait for you to see this stamp as well as the others in their entirety.  They are beyond ADORABLE!!!

Hippity Hop, Easter is on it's way!

Good morning y'all! I love to craft (shocker) and I especially love it when I make something for my girls and see their faces light up.  There is a new linky party challenge that starts today over at Craftin' Desert Divas with the theme of Easter.  So I decided to come up with something to decorate for Easter.  My girls get such a kick out of it when I do. I knew I wanted to use the Easter stamp from the Celebration Wordart stamp set.  I thought it would look cute kinda like a garden sign on a stake. I paper pieces the egg to make it pop out a bit.  One of the things I love the most about the word art sets is the fact that you do not have to use the whole stamp.  Each stamp contains so many sentiments you could use by themselves simply by masking off the other ones.  Which helps you have the perfect sentiment for your projects!

The Bunny Door hanger I used is from My Scrap Chick. I wanted to add some more elements to it so I added some carrots which I forget where I got them from (maybe SVG Cuts??). Then to add some color to the stamp I used my Spectrum Noir markers.  The paper I used on the bow tie is from Doodlebug.

If you haven't seen the Celebration Wordart set here it is in its entirety.

Getting crafty with Household items

Good morning everyone!

I love challenging myself to make things that I already have on hand (and sometimes even within my reach). I was sitting in my office and next to me were these clips and some Post It notes.  I figured "Why not?".  So I made some picture holders with the jumbo binder clips and some Post It note gift holders with the post it notes.

First off are my picture holders.  These were the jumbo ones I purchased from the nearest Office Supply store.  There are several different sizes available and you can do the same with each size, just measure your base so you know what to cut your DP at. For the first two I used Capture the Good Times stamp set.  These would be great to put wedding photos in, and even (I thought) great place card holders for an event, wedding or any kinda party.  And they get to take them home as favors to boot!I embellished mine with some ribbon and added a bit of hot glue towards the top.

I also made one in a baby boy theme but the stamp actually came from the girl inspired Sugar & Spice.  I have both sets because they both have stamps that are very versatile and can be used for anything.

Next I had some Post It note holders but they were from the Dollar store so I had to make up my own template due to the fact that they are much skinnier than the real Post-It Notes.  Each bag has two Post-It note holders in it and each holder has two pads inside.  So the recipient will get four post it note holders. I thought these would make great gifts to have on hand for the occasion you need a little Thank you gift.

For the sets in the bottom row I used Short & Sweet Tags.

This one is the package that is standing taller in the back.  I just packaged them differently.  This is the back side of the package.  I made it so there was a design on both sides.  The sentiment here is from Simply Said.

Below are the stamp sets I used as well as the links.

Short & Sweet Tags found HERE.

Simply Said found HERE.

Sugar & Spice found HERE.

Capture the Good Times found HERE.

You will be surprised with the amazing gifts you have right in front of you and they certainly will come in handy!

Have a great day!

Happy Crafting!
