About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

My laid back Hillbilly is LATE!!!!

What a big OOPPPSSS! Guess I was in the Hillbilly mood and I was laid back and easy going because I never posted my post! Sigh :( Sorry folks! It has been one crazy week here to say the least but that is my life.

I don't know if you all have seen the new Hillbilly Holler Stamps over at Peachy Keen Stamps. They are stinkin' adorable! For this set I used SY-900 Hillbilly Holler Set One. I had so much fun with these. I can't wait to play with the other sets. One of the things I love about them is their size. It is very easy to color the images especially for a Novice like me. The best part of it all is they are supposed to look rustic so when I screw it up it looks like it belongs there! LOL! I colored him in with my Prismacolor pencils, Stickles, and lots of Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink. The challenge this week at Peachy Keen Stamps was a fun one!! It is our 50th Challenge so you need to use the color Gold somewhere in your project. I am not a big fan of gold so I find it hard to use sometimes but I guess it is just my Phobia of it. For my gold I used Gold Stickles, Gold Small Library clips from Stampin' Up! and gold embossed paper from DCWV. To mat my Hillbilly Holler I cut out some cardstock with my Nesties. Then I covered up the image that I stamped on the diecut with a scrap piece of paper. Since my little guy is banging away on his homemade Banjo I wanted to add some music so he could really look jamming. I took my Vintage Music background stamp from Market Street Stamps. I also added a touch of gold threaded yarn across the border. I sure hope you stop on by and play along this week. Trust me it will be worth it, wait to you see the prize!!!!!
