About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Hopping along with Peachy Keen

Hello and welcome to another fabulous Peachy Keen Blog Hop. This release just knocked my socks off. I am sad that I didn't get to complete the rest of my projects for the blog hop, but I hope to for the future challenges.

I got to work with the adorable PK-278 Easter Basket Paint Fight. The grass is from PK-286 Easter Patch. My first idea was to make an Easter Egg coloring kit. I saved this old paint can container that held cookie cutters at one point and thought that it would be a great way to contain everything. I did not put the lid on the container because I realized that it had the name of the person I am giving it to and I don't want to ruin the surprise if they see it here. I thought it would be fun to fill the bucket up with a bunch of supplies to color Easter Eggs. For the matting I cut out the Glitter Cardstock (which will be available at PKS website) and white cardstock with my Nesties. To make my bunny soft & fluffy I used the Quickie Glue Pen from Peachy Keen Stamps and white Flocking. That glue pen is the bomb! It allows you to have such precision and gets into the smallest of spots. I literally just colored the spots in that I wanted with the glue pen and added the Flocking on top of it. A also used Stickles, Copics, White Gelly Roll Pen Medium Point and Prismacolor pencils. For some extra depth I covered the basket in Liquid glass by CTMH.

Next I decided to make a card to go with it. I used a piece of the glitter cardstock scrap to punch a decorative border, added some twine from The Twinery and an Epoxy flower. I cut out the mat with my Nesties and randomly stamped the paint splatters all over. I covered it in several layers of Ultra thick embossing powder and stuck it in the freezer for a couple of minutes to get that crackled look. The color of the images changed a little bit when I put the UTE over it. I then used mounting dots to bump up the image a bit. Simple card but a fun card.

This concludes the hop! Hope you had fun hopping along the PKS bunny trail and checking out all of the awesome creations. In case you just got here below is the full blog hop order...trust me you don't want to miss out on all of these awesome releases!
