About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Happy Birthday using Valentine's Left overs

This was my first attempt at using my Copics. I know it is horrible but you gotta start somewhere right?? The bad thing is, is that I got 3 sets with one of each color in it so it was hard to do shading. I am not happy with the outcome but I have a huge headache and could no longer concentrate....so it is what it is!

The challenge over at Die Cuts R Us was to make a non Valentine's day card with your Valentine's leftovers. I think possibly I took it to far! I used up every scrap that I had which made me happy. I even had a little piece leftover so I used my circle punch to make a paper flower. I used my leftover ribbon from one card and the only papers I had from the other project. Awhile back I made a Love ornament in a box and I had the leftover cut out from the center. So I cut it in half to fulfill the sketch over at Papertake Weekly. I dry embossed some of the scraps with my Cuttlebug using the swiss dot folder for the Just Buggin' challenge. I used an adorable Tilda Magnolia stamp for the Just Magnolia birthday challenge.

The other challenges I submitted this card to are:

Charisma Cardz Birthday card with a twist challenge
C.R.A.F.T. Ribbon & Sparkle challenge
Stamp Scrap Doodle sparkle challenge
Cute Card Thursday Ribbon Challenge
One Stop Craft Pink challenge
Crazy 4 CHallenges 3 Textures challenge
Scrap & Stamp Texture challenge

  1. Lovely card Lisa. Love the image & your flower is so cute. Keep going with the copics they are worth practicing with as the results are great. Good start though, don't be too hard on yourself.
Your profile is so moving & has certainly made me value my children as it shows you never know what is going to be sent for you to deal with. Congrats on the birth of your twins. What a fabulous gift they must be.
    Sending you hugs

  7. Lisa, I think it's adorable. I think your coloring is FINE! I know what you mean about only having one shade in each color..I did that too. You'll eventually add to your collection and then you'll be able to do the shading. In the meantime, enjoy the Copics you have!! :)
