About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Butterfly wishes.....

This was probably the fastest card that I ever made. I took a couple of days off due to this week being the anniversary of the day my kids went to Heaven. For some reason this year was harder than the last. It has taken me a couple of days to get back into my craft room but I did manage to get in there today. If you saw the room you would be mortified!!! It is beyond messy and if I wasn't to embarrassed I would take a picture of it to show you all.

But I did manage to get a very simple card done while the girls were sleeping AND work out. I based this card around the color scheme over at SPCC. Also a major factor in this card was to use only one paper for the challenge over at the ABC challenge blog. I then took a couple of the challenges listed below to put together the final design of the card. It is a very quick card but I really like it. It is hard to see in the picture but after I stamped the image I used my glue pen and sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter for a sparkly affect. I used the swiss dot folder to emboss the card base on my Cuttlebug so it didn't look so plain.

Supplies used:
Stampin Up! Inks ~ Mellow Moss & Creamy Caramel
Swiss Dot embossing folder
Inkadinkado Patterened Bugs stamp set

Challenges I submitted my card to:

Creative Belli Butterflies OR Dragons challenge.

Stamp Something Spring CHallenge
Cupcake Craft Friends challenge
The Corrosive "Wings" challenge
Paper SUndaes Glittery Spring challenge
Rosie D'sFriendship challenge
Practical Scrappers Stamps challenge

  19. Lisa, this cards is absolutely beautiful. I love how you added your kids to your blog banner and are so real and open in your profile. I will be praying for you. I can't imagine losing both of your kids...you are so very strong. I'm glad you found scrapbooking to help and that you now have your girls! You're an inspiration.

Here are some quotes to help you get through this week:

You don't get over it, you just get through it. Your don't get by it, because you can't get around it. It doesn't 'get better'; it just gets different. Everyday... Grief puts on a new face.... ~Wendy Feireisen

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. ~Leo Buscaglia

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a Headstone in Ireland
