About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

3rd post ~ A Scrapbook page!

Since it is getting towards the anniversary of the accident I tend to go into a scrapbooking mode of my two little angels. I started out in the craft world scrapping but lately I have been doing cards etc. But I am switching gears...I try to keep busy pretty much from now until almost the end of the month. After I get thru this I have my little ladies 1st birthday to plan!

Here is a page I did of my hubby & my Son Michael. We took them out to Wendy's after a doctors visit where they got shots. They were soooo good we treated them to junk food!! Great parents aren't we :)

The picture was taken on a cell phone. I got it printed out as a surprise for my hubby. My son is proudly showing off his "Handsome Hair". Mikey used to always ask Daddy...."Daddy give me some handsome hair" which worked out well because I stunk at it!

I based my page around these challenges:

Lord Have Mercy I based the layout around this sketch
One Stop Craft ChallengeColors were apple gree, clotted cream and chocolate
Allsorts CHallenge we had to Distress and use buttons or bows or both
Colors - green, blue, black, & Brown

Supplies:
Ink: Stampin Up! Chocolate Chip
Paper: Close to My Heart - Twitterpatted
Stamps: Stampin Up!- Collage Alphabet & Close to My Heart
Distress Paint by Tim Holtz - Peeled Paint
Various buttons

  5. Hi Lisa

A truly beautiful page - both for us all to look at as an inspiration but also for and your husband to look at and recall happy memories.

Great layout and details - plus a brilliant photograph of course. A really good one for saying it was taken on a cell phone!! Mine usually turn out rubbish!!

Thank you for playing along with Allsorts again this week.

    Love Jules xx

  11. lisa...what a precious testimony you have. i sit here crying as i type this knowing that it has not been an easy journey for you...but a necessary one. my heart aches that such a tragedy came to your life, but it also rejoices in the strength and peace that you exude. may God continue to bless you and keep you in the days and years ahead.
