About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Just Ducky!

Whew by the skin of my teeth. Everything went wrong with this card. I couldn't find my darn cuttlebug plates (I flippin hate that they are clear...think when I buy new ones I will paint them) so I had to jimmy rig it and what a disaster. Let's just say I now need all new plates.

I wanted to make a double pocket card for my niece to sent her a gift card as well as a little note in it. Figured I would play along with the first Peachy Keen Stamps challenge. If I didn't have so many problems I would of had fun with this one. I am not super happy with the turn out from what I had in my head but it is what it is until I get to Michaels.

I used the Duck and Egg die as well as the Duck accesories die from Peachy Keen Stamps. For the inside sentiment and the faux stitching I used PK-225 Happy Flowers and Cheerful phrases. I made a tag out of some scrap paper to stick in the front pouch. In the back pouch I used the gift card holder from SVG Attic in the Be Mine set. The papers I used I also got from Peachy Keen stamps which came in a kit by American Crafts.

  2. Lisa I'm sry you had such a hard time but it turned out fabulous, your niece is sure to love it :)
Does your wal mart not carry the cuttlebug plates, mine does and they are only 8.00 for the set, at M's they are 16.99, even with a 50% coupon they are still more, crazy I know. (I'm in Canada everything is over inflated in price) anyway, I also wanted to let you know that I bought a set of folders that I only use for embossing and when I got them I inked the outside edge in black permanent marker and wrote embossing only on them. For the longest time the ink was transferring to my folders and I even got it on the papers, (somehow). I always run them through the machine with the writing away from the folders (turned over) I don't have the transfering problem any more but it did happen for quite a while after I marked them just so you know. I was thinking next time I may paint the edges with nail polish :) anyway just wanted to let you know my experience with trying to mark them for easy locating, I have a little metal caddy now that I got dirt cheap that was supposed to be used cd's, I took out the top black metal shelf and I store all of my plates in it on top of my counter where I emboss, I don't have such a time finding them any more, :) hope my suggestions help hun, gl
