About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

My last post as a Peachy Keen Designer...

Good morning/afternoon everybody! I am trying to be cheerful on this bitter cold day but it is hard. Today I am sharing with you my last post as a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps. PKS was what brought me to Blog Land. I have know Kathy for many years and I just love her to bits. She is the one who told be about getting a blog and all the challenges etc. etc. Well in 2009 I started a blog and that was all she wrote... I became hooked! Sometime after that I joined the PKS Design Team and met some AMAZINGLY talented women. Not only talented but a complete pleasure to know. These women made this not only a DT but a Family. I will miss that the most. Peachy Keen has an Open call for designers still going on until December 31st. Even though I would never intentionally leave PKS I will not be trying out for the next team. Reason being I want you all to be able to experience one of the most amazing companies EVER to design for. I encourage all of you to apply. You can click HERE for all the details. It will be exciting to see all the new craftiness coming out of PKS next year.

For my last card as a designer I decided to use the stamp set that I used for my very first post and challenge on my blog. I used the strawberry from PK-239 Faceless Fruit so I thought it was fitting to do as my last post as a PKS Designer. The sentiment is from PK-292 Faceless Corn and the papers are from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line.

I want to thank you for all the support and comments you have left during the hops and the challenges during my term as a PKS Designer. I don't like change for obvious reasons but sometimes you just gotta roll with it. I am grateful and very thankful to have been part of the PKS DT as long as I have. I am also extremely thankful for getting to know some of the most amazing women EVER. PKS was just not a normal design team they were a family and I will forever miss that. I hope the new PKS team will get to have the same experience.

I will still be around the PKS world on the PK Connection (see button on my side bar), entering into challenges and alumni hops basically anything they ask me to do as well as supporting the new DT that they choose. I owe them alot and I will never forget that!

If I had to pick someone to take my place I would pick Glora from Glora's Crafts! She has been a big part of supporting the PKS DT so I hope she tries out!

Okay folks...this is me signing off from the best DT I will ever know! Hugs, kisses and many tears :(

  1. Hi!I came back to see your photo. And again...loved all your work on the PK team and I agree! Glora would be an awesome addition! I will be back to visit soon (and thanks for coming by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment!)

  2. Oh my goodness! Your post is beautifully worded and just perfect. Your card is beautiful and I just love that you used the first set that you had used on your first post. The papers are absolutely gorgeous too! I have learned so much about you and the crazy and emotional journey that you have been through over the past few years. I have cried many times reading about your sweet angels. I remember how touched I was when Kathy came out with that darling angel stamp set last year. I can see why you don't feel like a member of a design team but part of the PK family! I will definitely continue to drop by and I look forward to seeing you in the special DT hops!

I also want to thank you SO much for saying that you would love for me to make the team. I can't say how much that touched me. I have tried out for the team and have my fingers crossed because it would be a dream come true, but at the same time I really do realize how many very talented ladies there are out there! Thanks for your support and encouragement. It means the world to me! Much love and hugs- Glora

  3. Lisa I have cried many tears too, but I know that it is the best thing for PKS to continue to grow. You are an inspiration and I am so glad I met you in October! Hope to do it again someday! See you at the next hop!
    Love and hugs, Janice

  4. Lisa, this has to be one of my favorite cards of all time! WOW! You chose some amazing paper, and the color combo is stunning! I'm sure gonna miss you, girl, but you know I'm looking forward to our alumni events, and I'll be stopping by your blog to see what you're up to. Getting to meet you was wonderful, and I'm so grateful for that opportunity. You are an amazing and strong person filled with creativity, and it's been such a blessing to be a part of all this with you!

  5. Oh my WORD Lisa!! WHAT a gorgeous card for your swansong. We have travelled a long and exciting road haven't we love! I remeber our first 'meeting' when I 'paid it forward' to you all that time ago! We were meant ot meet and become firm friends. Meeting you in October was time I'll never forget. You are living lesson in strength and endurance. Love and laughter. I cherish our time together and look forward to our alumni get-togethers next year. Love you, miss you. Viv xxx

  6. I am rather new to PK stamps but am having a great time checking out the blogs of the current DT members. You all do really great work and I'm sure will truly be missed. I'm so sorry about the loss of your dear sweet family members. I lost a three year old nephew two years ago and there is no loss that hurts more than the loss of a child that you love. I'm glad that such a horrible event in your life brought you to a hobby that can give you a small sense of peace.
