About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

KaDoodle Bug Designs and Too Cute By Jessica Facebook FP hop!

I am participating in a fun hop over on Facebook with KaDoodle Bug Designs and Too Cute by Jessica.  Hop along with us to win some super fun prizes. You can start HERE at the beginning.  Make sure to visit everyone and leave comments to be in the running for two $20 GC one to each store.

For my projects I used A Raggedy School Year and the Back To School Title both found in the KBD store. First I made a pencil box from a file that I bought from the Silhouette Store.  Super cute way to spruce up a gift of pencils.  You can fill it with other items as well.  Then I made a matching Post-It Note holder with the clip art from the set. The paper I used was by October Afternoon and the card stock American Crafts.

Tomorrow will be day #2 of the hop so don't forget to hop along both days for extra chances at winning!

Oh Scraps!

Time for a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  This challenge is right up my alley.  I had so much fun it was hard to stop.  The challenge is to use your scraps.  Now I know you all probably have a larger scrap pile than you would like to admit.  I am a hoarder and keep everything from small pieces of ribbon to paper.  I know that one day I will have a use for it! LOL For this challenge I decided to make bookmarks.  It was super easy to do and a flipping great way to use up those scraps.  I cut a bunch of cardstock to 2x6.  This is a great way to cut up your solid card stock and get rid of it.  I used all one color in the pictures.  I had other colors cut but ran out of time and figured the 50 I had was a bit over the top anyway! I then sat down with my vase of scrap ribbons and went to town attaching whatever ribbon matched the paper.  And on each card they are tied in various ways, whatever the length of ribbon I had allowed. Now there is a funny story along with these.  After I was like a machine cutting my scraps down to size I was on cloud 9! I felt like I was purging and it felt so good to use this stuff up.

Well I must of been going to quickly on some of them and on one of my hands I had 4 large paper cuts and on the other I had about 3.  I had to rush from that to the dentist then straight for blood work.  As I walk up to the check-in counter I pumped some antibacterial gel onto my hands...WELL LET ME TELL YOU I think she thought I was on crack, drunk or just plain strange.  My mouth was all slanted from the Novacaine and barely open by eyes from the migraine.  I can only imagine what she was thinking once that Antibacterial wash hit those papercuts.  I looked like a Mexican Jumping bean that was ready to pass out once I stopped hopping around.  So yep using your scraps up feels good but comes with a price!! LOL

I hope you join in and hop up on the USE YOUR SCRAPS UP wagon and come along and have some fun with us!

Bring on the HEAT!

It is time for yet another fantastic challenge over at the Sisterhood Of Crafters.  The theme this time is BRING ON THE HEAT.  We ask that you make a project with a Sun on it.  Super easy and super fun. One of the things I love about the Sisterhood is the range of projects and the mediums used to make them.  You never know what you will see.  Painting, knitting, cards, scrapbook layouts, paper piecings and more.  I hope you come on over and play along with our challenge.  Let us celebrate the Sun because before you know it we will all be wearing coats and shivering!! LOL

For this card I welded the sun to a rectangle that I knew was going to be my mat.  Since the sun hung off I wanted to give it a backing along with some strength.  I used the sun and clouds from KaDoodle Bug Designs Pearly White Fairies kit and the sunglasses from Surfing Bear. The surfing bear is free right now at KaDoodle Bug Designs so hop on over and grab it while you can. The paper is Sweet Day by Echo Park.

For this card I used paper from Authentique and an old stamp set from Market Street Stamps that has since closed down. When I was making the card I noticed the face I used from my Chef guy still on the acrylic block next to me so I stamped it on the sun.  I colored the sun in with my Spectrum Noir markers.

Gnomies are my homies

I had so much fun creating these little darling lollipop/treat holders!! Don't laugh but I usually don't use my SSDE software to do anything other than opening and cutting SVG's.  I do not know how to use most of the tools that come with it.  Well this was my very first attempt at creating something in the program.  I created a rectangle and added score marks where it would fold creating the holder.  Then I welded the mushrooms and gnomes to each one which gave me coverage in the back so you wouldn't see glue as well as support and strength.  I know that is probably kindergarten level stuff for most of you pro's but it was the first for me! lol  I used the adorable Gnomes file from Too Cute by Jessica which you can find HERE.  I also used the faces from my PKS March 2012 Stamp of the Month kit which can be found HERE. These would make adorable party favors!!

Christmas in July!

There is a new challenge over at KaDoodle Bug Designs Facebook page and I have the pleasure of hosting it.  The theme of the challenge is to make a project with a Christmas theme.  And of course it has to have a KaDoodle Bug Design image on it/with it.  I am making a couple of projects with the same two kits.  I am using Elfing Around Elves and Candy Cane Elves where you can find HERE. I will be back this week with more items I made using these same kits!

I hope you pop on in and share some crafty Christmas projects with us!  See you there!!

My patriotic owl card

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having nice weather. We are finally getting some hot but nice weather.  I wanted to pop in and share my card I made for the challenge going on at the KaDoodle Bug Facebook page. The winner gets a pretty nice prize so I would definitely say to play along if you have time.  All you have to do is create a project with an owl on it.  You can find out all the details on their Facebook page HERE.

I used the Patriotic Party Owl clip art option which is just amazingly shaded and colored. Makes a card
super easy to make. You can find that HERE.

Black, white plus one other color challenge

Hello everyone!  I am popping in to share with you my creations for the new Sisterhood of Crafters challenge we have this week.  We are asking you to create a project with the colors black, white, and one other color.  Lots of possibilities here!  I decided to making two little Thank you card holders for this challenge to give as gifts.  I thought this would be a cute way to give thank you cards in.  Both cuts are from SVG Cuts.  The suitcase is from Summer Holiday and the picnic basket is from Picnic in the Park. The cards fit nicely inside.  I hope you stop on by The Sisterhood and play along with us!  Have a great week!

I linked these up to the challenge over at 2 Creative Chicks for their 3D challenge.  There is almost a month left to play along so I am sure I will be back! Actually I know I will be :)

Take off!!!

Everyday for almost the past two weeks we have been hit with storms and dreary weather.  So it inspired me to make something cheerful to help me look on the brighter side of things.  I fell in love with the Air Force Penguin file from KaDoodle Bug Designs websiteHERE.  This set can go in so many different directions.  Super, super cute and useful.  I decided to use the stretch card by Lori Whitlock which I purchased from the Silhouette Online Store.  Such a fun shaped card and perfect for this file I thought. The clouds are from the Pearly White Fairies collection.  I welded the rays of the sun for the shadow of the sun since I needed it to be joined considering it would be hanging off the fourth tier/back of the card. You can open the front flaps on either side to write your message.  Hope you like it because it was really fun to work with.  The paper is from Echo Park's Little boy collection except for the clouds, that paper is from Teresa Collins.  And make sure to stop on by KaDoodle Bugs online store..today is the last day of the sale which is an amazing 70% off a purchase of $25 or more!! You will get lost in her store like I did.  I fell in love with her files not knowing what ones to get first!

Baking bears by Too Cute for Jessica

Hello All!  I am trying to get caught up on my projects because I have so many fun ones I want to share with you all.  Today I made a cute little Thank you for my neighbor using Jessica's Baking Bear file from Too Cute by Jessica.  I love this set and have many ideas on projects to do with it.  You need to stop by because she is having a fantastic sale that you don't want to miss out on.  Right now you can get 70% yes 70% off your purchase of $20 or more.  The sale ends soon so don't wait! OMG her files are just too adorable you will be glad you stocked up at these prices!!!

Sorry about the bad picture.  I had to take it laying down because the pies would of gotten crushed.  My original plan was to make this into a tag but I made it to big!! I still love it anyway and I am sure they will too!

This is the pies without the label.  I wanted to show you so you knew what was underneath!  I usually make a vast amount of these because they go quick and freeze well.  Not that mine ever make it to the freezer!! hahah

Off to get some more crafting done...Have a great day!

Blogger doesn't like me!

I swear my post keep disappearing!!! I had a post up here for the Sisterhood Of Crafters challenge that I am hosting and it has disappeared!  There is still time to play along.  The theme is Stars and Stripes.  I created my card with my Spectrum Noir markers and a mason jar stamp from PaperTrey Ink.
I punched the corners for a little added touch and distressed it in some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.  The ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink as well.  I am just learning to use my SPectrum Noir markers so be kind! LOL

Another fun challenge is going on over at KaDoodle Bug Designs and it is an anything goes challenge.  I decided to try my hand at Step cards.  I don't think I ever did one and I had so much fun I doubt it will be my last!  I used a few different files to make this card.  First I used the surprise freebie( which you need to grab before it is replaced) called SIMPLY GIRL BEAR 1 .  The sun is from   and the ball as well as the glasses are from Beach Ball Bear.  The drink is from Sun Sheep  and the sun is from Pearly White Fairies. I had to add an adorable face stamp on the sun which I got from my last Peachy Keen Stamp of The Month club which you can find HERE. The sentiment is also from that kit which I just broke up to fit on the banner.

Hope you take time to play along with both of the challenges!

Tea for me and you..

Hello ladies!  I am hurrying to get this post up before the storm hits yet again.  I wanted to share with you all this tea bag caddy that I made with the adorable file from KaDoodle Bug Designs called Tea Time with Me. I am making a couple of pieces with this set and this is the first one I have to share with you all.  I made the caddy from SVG Cuts Tea For You and Me  set.  The paper is from Fancy Pants which is called Time For Spring.  I finished it off with an adorable face from Peachy Keen Stamps.  These would make cute gifts filled with the receivers favorite type of tea which is exactly what I will do with this!  I added the lace trim from Recollections.  Okay it is getting dark now. Hope all you out there in storm land stay safe! Happy Crafting!

Kadoodle Bug Design Projects

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying this gorgeous weather we have been having (well over here anyway!).  It sure is welcomed after all the cruddy cold and wet weather we have been having.  I wanted to pop on in and share some more projects that I have made with files from KaDoodle Bug Designs

For this cute little box I used the Train case from SVG Cuts Summer Holiday set but put a little boy Dinosaur theme to it.  For the cute tag I used the dinosaur from KBD's Cute Little Dino set.  The papers were from Basic Grey.

I made an altered composition notebook to preserve your summer memories in.  The mermaid is from TOO CUTE BY JESSICA's Under the Sea file which you can find HERE.

This is the card I used for the last challenge which was black, white and one other color.  The image is the free faceless clipart bee which can be found HERE. Grab it before it goes away!! I used a Peachy Keen face stamp for the face.

I used one of those $1 frames from Michaels for this frame and covered it with Basic Grey paper.  I used the Endless Summer file found HERE to decorate it. I had a problem with the beak on the flamingo so I colored it in with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I loved this SVG set called Lemonade Monkeys.  I made a scrapbook page layout using October Afternoon papers. Those monkeys are just too cute!! Perfect for summer photos or Lemonade Stand pictures.

A few quick projects I made

There is another challenge going on over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  We are doing a theme of "One for the Boys".  Asking you to create a project to celebrate the man in your life.  A man, boy, son, father etc. etc. whatever the project be make it male oriented.  I made a beer mug box, lime box and put it on top of an octagon shaped box.  I plan on giving it to my hubby for Father's Day filled with goodies.  Well I should say I HAD planned on doing that.  I did add some more decorations and embellishments to it.  But apparently my darling daughter thought it looked cool and played with it ripping the handle of the mug off.  The only picture I had was this one on my Iphone before she destroyed it.  The papers I used were actually WITCH HAZEL by October Afternoon meant for Halloween but I thought they looked boyish so I used them!

I made these to give out as Thank you cards to those who came to my Twin's 4th birthday party.  It was ocean/sea themed so I used this whale from Kaboodle Bug Designs LITTLE SAILORS kit.  I know I am behind the 8 ball but I never used clip art before.  I was so excited that I would able to print out the files just the way they looked on her screen.  This enabled me to make several of these at once and super easy!  Safe to say I am now addicted to clip art.  You will be seeing more of it around...LOL

This is the card that I made from the Little Sailors kit.

This is all that comes with the kit

Here is my beer mug ensemble from SVG Attic before it got destroyed.

I also made those cute little Tooth Fairy tin to keep those missing teeth safe until the Tooth Fairy comes! LOL I used the Pearly Whites Fairies set from KaDoodle Bug.  I measured the tin and made a shape in my SSDE that resembles the tin to help me get an idea of how to size my images.  I then did the Tooth Shaped house, Tooth Fairy on the outside and the Tooth Fairy on the inside.  While in SSDE I put the text into the cloud.  I think it is a cute way to get the little ones excited about the Tooth Fairy coming!

Here is everything that is included in the set.

Hope you enjoyed all my goodies.  Now I am off to button up and batten down the hatches.  We are expecting to get hit by round two of this horrible storm.

Hugs...

YAY for me!!!

I am running a bit behind due to my twin's birthday party.  But I wanted to share with you that I have made the KaDoodle Bug DT.  I honestly didn't think I would make it but sent my images just for the heck of it.  Much to my surprise I did!!! I couldn't be more excited. I am in awe of her files.  When you purchase them and open them your mouth will fall open.  Do you use MTC? Click that file and it opens in MTC.  Use SSDE?  Click that file and it opens up in Silhouette.  I never saw files so well organized.  And it even comes in Clip Art.  My first time ever using clip art was yesterday when I was in a rush to make tags for my girls birthday party.  I found an image that would work and I was able to print it just as shown!! OMG totally saved the day...only bad thing is now I am addicted to clip art..LOL!  Anyway I wanted to share some projects I have made so far.  You can find KaDoodle Bug's blog HERE and their Facebook page HERE.  Make sure you LIKE them on Facebook.  You don't want to miss out on the awesome freebies Melissa gives out.

My very first project I made was a graduation card for my friend's daughter.  Thank goodness she makes it so easy because I didn't have much time.  I love when you UNGROUP her files (all pieces come on one page) all the same colors move together. I can't tell you how awesome that is!!

For my first card I made an easel card using the following files: ConGRADulations Title, Graduation Owl and  SC Nature's Hoo

I fell in love with these turtles from TURTLEY CUTE and knew I had to work with them.  I paired it up with a stamp from Peachy Keen. I love that I can make those adorable eyes with a SVG file.  I stink at drawing!! LOL

My twin's 4th birthday party was an ocean/water theme.  These adorable creatures are from KaDoodle Bug's sister site TOO Cute by Jessica. The file I used called CUTE LITTLE SEA CREATURES can be found HERE.  I made them into cupcake toppers and everyone loved them.  I have pictures of the rest of the decorations and I will post them once I get them all downloaded. What is even better is today is the last day of the sale she has been running.  You get 70% off a purchase of  $25 and more.  WOW you can't beat that!!

Hope you enjoyed my new projects I have made to celebrate my new journey as a DT member of KaDoodle Bug Designs.  I will be sharing more projects shortly!
