About Me

I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Dies & Punches over at the Sisterhood

Good morning y'all! Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  My Sistah' Vickie has chosen a theme of "USING DIES & PUNCHES".  The challenge lasts about 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to come on over and play along with us.

I have had this thought in my mind for some time to make this style card.  I got some new Doodlebug SPRING GARDEN Paper pad and Sprinkles that were just released and for some reason when I saw the paper I thought, "Heck I am gonna do that idea!"...lol I thought it was perfect for this challenge theme.

Close up of the stitched dies.  Sadly it doesn't show how awesome these dies are! It even leaves the stitching on the negative piece that you don't use.

First I used my Double Stitched Scallop dies from Craftin' Desert Divas along with one sheet of the double sided Doodlebug paper.  I simply would flip the paper back and forth to use both of the patterns and to achieve the stitching in the right areas.  Next I took the HELLO die from the CDD Pocket Pieces Hello die set in solid black and put it in the upper right hand corner.  Now I struggle big time with simple cards so I tried to to some things with the sentiment, HELLO.  Well after redoing the card 2 times and the word HELLO 7 times I gave up and said NOPE, no more for me!! Simple it is!!! LOL I honestly don't know why I struggle so much with simple card!! It should be the easiest!!! To finish the card off I used the new Doodlebug Bright MATTE Sprinkles.

Have a great day!

HAPPY CRAFTING!
