Today we were on the front page of our newspaper and I thought I would share it with you all. Making a long story short my husband always wanted to rebuild a car with my son Mikey. After we lost both of our children we got a 56' Chevy and used that has a path to healing. Whatever time he could he was in their with blood sweat and lots of tears. Now almost 5 years later the car is completed and he is able to start doing some Charity work with it which is what he set out to do. Last minute we put together a toy drive for Toys for Tots. Mike signed up to be in the Toys for Tots parade thru town and said it would be great to fill the Chevy up with toys to donate. Thanks to many great friends, neighbors and complete strangers we were able to fill up the back and inside of our truck as well as the inside and trunk of the Chevy. The Coordinator of Toys for Tots in our area came down to present us with a Certificate of Recognizition which was very touching.
The saying goes "When Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade"...well guess this is us making lemonade. We may not be able to see smiles on our children's faces this Christmas morning but we know that because of our children Annemarie and Mikey there will now be oodles of children smiling come Christmas morning.
Thank you to everybody who helped us complete this task! Many hugs from us and our angels!
