About Me

Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

A Peachy New Sketch Challenge

Whew...I think I survived but barely. My twins turned 2 on the 16th and we just had the party this week. My niece & nephew were here from Florida and last year we started a tradition of after the party putting up our tent (this thing is HUGE..we call it the Taj Mahal) and having all the kids sleep over. We had 8 kids in the tent and two adults to supervise not to mention 8 adults in the house. I woke up at the crack of dawn to make a gazillion Buttermilk pancakes and no I did not think ahead and buy Bisquick..sigh. But they had a blast and that is what counts. I just have been going for over 2 weeks straight with very little sleep and throw in some major stress and dealing with alot of crazy personal issues boy oh boy. The minute I stopped I crashed. It has been 3 days and I am still not recovered and I am still cleaning up the mess from the party. I haven't been in my craft room in weeks so I am very very sad..sniff sniff.

But the good news is that Peachy Keen Stamps has a great new challenge this week. That gave me a chance to sneak back in my craft room to make a card. I got to use the new stamps PK-287 Ballin' Bunnies released recently that are just to cute. I stamped the adorable crying bunny and glued it on top of the die cut. Then I did several layers of UTI and stuck it in the freezer for the cracked glass effect. I wanted something "broken" to symbolize saddness or hurt which is why the bunny is crying. I colored her in with my Prismacolor pencils with French Grey tones.

  1. Lisa, your card is really sweet. I love the cracked glass look you got. It's beautiful. Happy 2nd Birthday to your sweet babies!! <3

  2. Lisa awesome effect to have the broken (cracked) look for the sad little bunny. I hope you recover quickly and well from the party and everything else going on. Hugs- Glora

  3. Nice job! Super cute card TFS

  4. Sounds like you have been on overload :) Your card is adorable, love that cracked effect and that bunny is so cute.

  5. Lisa! I HAVE to try this technique you've showcased so beautifully! I LOVE this card and that bunny looks as if he's right along with you this past couple of weeks! I do hope you're feeling a lot calmer now love and that any upsets have resolved themselves. You deserve a rest my friend! xxxxx

  6. Oh Lisa!! Happy Birthday to Mia and Gianna!! LOL.. I remember the tent story from last year!! Sounds like my kind of camping!! HA HA HA ... Your card is just as sweet as can be! Isn't it just as sweet as can be when we can find some time or an excuse anyway to go play in our craft room!! Love ya!! :) HUGE HUGS!! Kathy
