About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

My Western Wedding favors and centerpieces

Hello everyone! I am so happy to finally share these with you.  I made these for my sisters bridal shower.  I used a file called Western Wedding from Too Cute by Jessica.com.  I made the favor by wrapping my sisters favorite candy bar and embossing the paper.  I then did a print and cut on my Cameo to get all the information to show up on the dress.  I made a little folio which contained a note pad, post it note and a pen that matched whatever paper was on the front. The paper was from Cosmo Cricket's Art Angel line.

Now on to the centerpieces.  I used the boot from SVG Cuts Happy Trails kit and the roses from the Mom's Garden Gifts set.  I inked them all up with TH Vintage photo.  I took the bride from the western wedding and made it double sided so whatever side of the table you were sitting on you would see the bride.  On the back of the boot on the strap I put her soon to be new last name. I also embossed the dresses in two different designs with my Sizzix folders.  We ran out of time so I didn't get to add all the panels to the boots but everyone loved them regardless! Lots of work but she is worth it :)

Tag you're it!

There is another fun challenge going on over at the Sisterhood of Crafters with the theme of TAG YOU'RE It!  Make a project with a tag on it or the project itself is a tag.  Then link it up and play along!  There is some fun inspiration to get you started on the Sisterhood blog from the DT as well as our new Step-Sisters. Make sure to stop on by and leave them some blog love!

I made a little box and filled it with 6 tags that I turned into gift card holders (see pic below). I got both files from the Silhouette store. I then used the newly released SNOW MUCH LOVE set from KaDoodle Bug Designs for the images.  I never worked with clip art until recently and I just love, love, love it!  I altered the larger snowman/woman to fit the front of each tag.  Then I took three of the smaller images to make a panel for the front of each box.  I made 6 boxes with 6 tags in each box. I distressed everything with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. I thought these would make cute gifts for the holidays.  Or you can tie them to a small gift or the tree with a gift card on the back.  And you don't even have to put a gift card in it, you can put a piece of cardstock in the slot and write a message on the back.  I just fell in love with those adorable Snowman from Trina Clark.  I am so happy that I can get them in other forms at KaDoodle Bug Designs.  I am working on a larger project that I will share with you once it is done.

Now...Tag you're it...See ya at the Sisterhood!

Devine Digis at the Sisterhood!

Hello and a very happy morning to you all!  I am happy to announce a new challenge over at the Sisterhood Of Crafters that is being sponsored by one talented artist!  The challenge is to make a project using Digis (digital stamps).  The challenge is being sponsored by Shelly's Images and you can go to her store by clicking HERE.

I just love this image. It is called SANTA'S OLD FAITHFUL and can be found HERE.  The first thing that popped into my head was doing something natural with it.  So I decided to keep it blank to let the artwork shine thru.  I did a print and cut on my Cameo for the very first time with a Digi!! I never did it before nor did I think to!! How beautiful would it be to make a bunch of these tags as a gift to someone? Now I attached it to a card for the picture but the tag could stand alone.  I see a gorgeous box of these tags all done up...a gorgeous handmade gift for someone!

Next I used the digi called PUMPKINS which can be found HERE.  I simply layered it with some scrap paper in fall colors and colored the image in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Her artwork makes it very easy to make a beautiful project!

I hope you get your digi on and come on over and play along.  If you do you will get a chance at winning  a $6 voucher to Shelly's Images.  You should stop on by and see what wonderful digis she has available for sale.  They truly are a piece of art!
