About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Spring is on the way........

Good morning y'all! This post gives me some hope that this frigid weather we are having will be over soon.  I surely wasn't made to be an Eskimo, that's for sure! The only bonus to cold weather is staying inside and getting "stuck" in my craft room!! lol

Today starts a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters. My crafty Sistah' Darlene is hosting the challenge that starts today.  She picked a theme of "THINK SPRING" which I was very happy to jump all over that one!

I wanted to dig in my stash and use some of my older products.  The flowers and mason jar are from PaperTrey Ink (as well as the sentiment on the jar). The sentiment in the top right corner is from a company that is no longer in business.  I colored the jar with my copics and then stamped the sentiment.  I cut it out and covered it in some Glossy Accents.

Next I stamped the flowers on some card stock and colored those in as well with my Copics finishing them off with a clear Wink of Stella marker as well as some Glossy accents on the leaves.  The paper I used is Botanical Gardens from Graphic 45.  I fussy cut a butterfly to add to the bunch of flowers.

I hope you all get in the mood for SPRING and play along with us over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.
HAPPY CRAFTING,
LISA

  3. This is AWESOME Lisa! Seems we are all trying to use up some of the scraps we have laying around and everyone is coming up with some fabulous creations! Your card is fabulous and I LOVE the coloring on the jar ... looks like one of those old time Ball jars (my daughter has several on display in her china cupboard). Great job and brought an instant smile.
Hopefully the storm we are expecting over the next 48 hours will be the last of the season! I'm ready to put the winter gear away and break out my new flip flops lol. Have a great day girlfriend and thanks for wonderful inspiration!
