Day 2 of Sneak Peeks

I wish you could see how much fun I have when I played with these Peachy Keen Stamps. I just didn't know where to start and when to STOP! I don't want to..that's why!!! Here are two more sneak peeks of projects I made with the stamps. I can't wait to show you the WHOLE project and all of the stamps. I would love to be able to show you a project with each stamp that comes in each set...hhhmmm maybe some coffee will help me accomplish that...

Sneak Peeks & get ready to HOP!

OMG! I am splitting at the seams trying to contain my excitement about these brand new stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps. Halloween is one of my FAVORITE FAVORITE holidays. I just have sooo much fun making projects for Halloween. To celebrate we are having Sneak Peeks all weekend in order to get ready for our Blog HOp on Monday. Stitching Challenge over at Practical Scrappers

I know what you are thinking....a Christmas card in August??? Well I am always so far behind I figured why not and get ahead of the game. I actually was just glancing thru my Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge and came across this image. I have been trying to use my Design Studio more so I just started playing around. I welded the two shapes into a card. I then used two different snowflakes and inked them up with Stampin Up! ink. For dimension I added some pop dots to the second layer of the snowflake. The challenge this week over at Practical Scrappers is to use Stitching on your project. So I added stitching on the inner layer of the card with my sewing machine and then used my white gel pen to go around the scalloped edge and add faux stitching. I started to add ribbon to it but honestly it looked better plain and simple like it is so I left it. Now that I got some Christmas cards done...hhhmmm maybe I should work on actually getting them sent out!! HA

I used Teri's beautiful Monarch Butterfly. I picked this image because my friend loves Butterflies. I made the card simple without alot of foo-foo because it's not a good time for her. I just wanted to let her know that I am here for her. I used my Copics to color the image, then cut it out and popped it up with mounting squares for a little dimension. Hello Everyone!

This is going to be a brief post because I just had some family leave and a new batch is coming. I have to clean up from wave #1 to get ready for wave #2!

This week over at Peachy Keen Stamps we have a great challenge. I gotta admit I had something totally in mind when I saw the sketch part of the challenge but I had to scrap it when I saw the color challenge. I kinda froze when I saw the colors because those are not colors I normally use so I was a bit worried. But afterall a challenge is a challenge right??? LOL! Well I had fun doing it. I am just starting to practice with my Copics and need to get the right ink/paper to prevent it from bleeding so you will have to excuse that in the card (bleeding of colors). Challenge #35 over at Peachy Keen Stamps is a sketch AND a color challenge. The prize is a $30 gift certificate to the PKS store..How cool is that????????? I wish I could enter!! Kathy is always coming up with new and fun images and I just want them ALL!!

I wanted to add some more to the card but I had family come up for a visit then throw in some horrendous thunderstorms and I just ran out of time. I do love this image from PKS..She is sooooooo cute! I used Peachy Keen Stamps PK-780 Lulee's Swim Time. I colored her with my Copics then accented her with some stickles and my white Gelly pen.

Practical Scrappers Summer themed challenge

Hello All! It is sad to say that it has taken me this long to start scrapbooking my husband and me. These pictures were taken on our honeymoon almost 10 years ago..this was also the last time I wore a bathing suit..sigh... I had so many pictures to try to fit in here that this was my only option. I am working on an adjoining page to this layout where I kept my favorite pictures bigger.

I completed this layout for the challenge this week over at Practical Scrappers. We had to use summer themed products on our projects. I am now on a mission to start doing more pages for "our" book. It is important not only to remember where we started and our journey together but it will be something for our children to cherish. One down...a gazillion more to go!

Celebrating Back to School Sistah style!

Hello Everyone!!! This is alot of parents favorite season to celebrate...Back to School time! Now I know there are some that will sit home and sob for the first few days....I know I will!

Over at The Sisterhood Crafters we are celebrating the Back to School season. We are asking you all to make any project that has to do with the Back to School theme. I did a two page layout of my son Michael getting ready for his Early Intervention class. He had a speech delay so he would attend these classes two-three times a week. Unfortunately he didn't get past that onto regular school. But even for this my husband took off and we both cried..we were so proud of him. The picture of the back of my husband and son for some reason gets me everytime. I don't know why but that picture just makes me cry...it's one of my favorites. After his initial hesitation he LOVED going to IU20 (his school).

Here is what I came up with. I wanted to keep it simple. I also wanted to use up these stickers that I have had forever from Creative Memories.

More Fun Challenges over at Practical Scrappers

Bling, Bling, & more bling! Here is my entry for the Practical Scrappers Online Crop party Bling It On - Challenge #8. For this challenge you need to use at least three different types of bling (Bling is anything that has a shine to it). I used metal charms, brads, beads, glitter, embossing powders, shiny embellishments...let's just say this LO has lots of BLING going on!

Next we have my entry for the Color Me - Challenge #1. We had to make a project with the color YELLOW being the dominant color.

Practical Scrappers Online Crop Party!

Whoo HOOO! Some more online fun with Practical Scrappers!! As I mentioned Practical Scrappers is celebrating their one year anniversary this week. On our message board (which you can get to by clicking on the Practical Scrappers badge on my sidebar, then on the MESSAGE BOARD badge on the left side of the page)we have loads of fun going on. There are some sketch challenges, color challenges and lots of fun themed challenges. I started today on some and I am having a blast.

For the Sketch Challenge #7 I came up with this layout for my friends album. I didn't do any journaling because I left that for her. I used paper from My Mind's Eye and embellishments from K & Company.



Next we have Seed Spittin' Challenge #3 where we had to do something with watermelons or the color of watermelons. Here is a quick and simple layout for that challenge:



Last but not least Clowning Around Challenge #2 I made a scrapbook page border, tag and mat to be put on a LO in the future. I made this one completely out of scraps!! Now that makes me happy!!

Happy Anniversary Practical Scrappers!! PS is one year old today (in blog years) and they are celebrating all week long with different challenges everyday with the number "1" in mind.

Today over at Practical Scrappers we were challenged to make a project using the "First" of something. I choose to do a layout of my son's first haircut. My dad cut my son's hair and he was NOT happy. It was going good until my dad sprayed him with the water. I normally hate to journal on my pages because my handwriting is so bad but I am changing that. And I am glad I did on this one because I would of forgotten what made him cry! I tried to use a paper pad that I had bought years ago by Paper Pizazz. It is part of my new movement to start using stuff I have!!!!!!

Celebrating the Month at the Sisterhood!

Good afternoon everyone!! This post was suppossed to go up yesterday but we had some bad weather and I had to shut down the computer. I didn't realize until now that it never launced so here it is!

I am just starting to get my mojo back since I haven't been crafting for a couple of weeks. I wanted to make a simple card and since I am always soooooo behind I thought I would do a snail...kinda like sorry it took me so long card!

This is what I came up with:



I cut out the snail on my Cricut using the Create A Critter cartridge. I stamped her little face with my Peachy Keen Critter Faces medium stamp set. I embossed the plain white card with my herringbone Cuttlebug folder. Very simple but cute!

I'm back...(hopefully!) with Peachy Keen challenge #34

Hello Everyone! I am so sorry that I have not been posting and just kinda left everyone hanging. My littlest twin has been sick with 103 fever among other things so I have been a complete wreck. Considering what I have been thru in the past I have been in melt down status. She is finally coming around and feeling better but now I am dealing with teething times two and very little sleep!

I haven't been in my craft room for weeks and I am very far behind. I apologize for leaving several commenters/prize winners hanging but today is my first day back in the craft room and I am trying to play catch up so please bare with me.

During the Peachy Keen blog hop we released the new awesome Cottage Cutz dies by
The Scrapping Cottage and Peachy Keen Stamps. I had people leave comments and give me ideas what to make with the new dies. Well I randomly picked comments and created a few projects with them and it was fun. Well this week over at Peachy Keen Stamps there is a sketch challenge. I laughed because I love frogs also. When my daughter Gianna was born she had these big ol' eyeballs for such a tiny little thing that she was. So ever since then she had the nick name of Froggie and has everything froggie. As she grew older she grew into her eyes but the nick name stuck.

Anyway, here's my comment:You've sold me on the gingerbread set with that positively wonderful place setting card. And the chef hat card - very tastefully done. This is what I came up with. I forgot to take a picture of the inside and my "me" time is up so you will just have to imagine it..lol! It says "Congratulations.....on your bun in the oven!" I tried to do a boy/girl theme so it would be unisex if they didn't know what they were having. I welded the oven in Design Studio using the FROM MY KITCHEN cart. I cut out the little Gingerbread boy & girl using the new CottageCutz Gingerbread Doll from Peachy Keen. I used the face stamps that came with the die which is just totally awesome! If you are anything like me and (even your stick figures you try to draw look awful!) can't draw to save your life these stamps come in REALLY handy. The hats were cut out with the CottageCutz Doll Accessory die.

Lisa, what a beautiful job you have done. I would have to say that I love the snowmen the best. You could make tags to put onto a coffee cup filled with hot cocoa packages. That would make a cute gift!..They could say "You make me melt ." I read your profile and I must say, I admire your strength. I have four children and your loss is unimaginable to me. This one I had fun with. I have been wanting to make alphabet flash cards for the girls for sometime. But I never thought of doing a set for the Seasons for some reason. Sweetest Harmony left a comment suggesting making flashcards for kids to learn the seasons . I had such a great time coming up with something.

Okay, RavenB requested a holiday card made with the flower die. This was done rather quickly but it was the first one I did :) I used a bunch of pop dots to give it lots of layers but you can't really make that out in the photo. I used the hat from the accessory die then added some Stickles and liquid applique.

Next I picked the comment left by MY QUILLING NEST. She asked to see a gift box made with the Birdie die. I am not the best with coloring. I cut the bird out in white card stock. I then used my Prismacolor pencils for some shading. Next I cut another bird out in vellum to layer on top of the blue to soften it a bit.

Peachy Keen Challenge & some blog hop winners

Hello Everyone! I am very behind but phew..I am plum warn out from all that hopping! Plus I have been very busy behind the scenes creating some of the wonderful suggestions you guys have left when you commented. For the doorway, I added a horse cut from Create A Critter cartridge and stamped with PK-754 Critter Faces.

We literally got these dies hot off the press so we didn't have much time to play with them. Each DT member was given a die to showcase and I received the adorable Gingerbread men/ladies :) I used them as well as the accessory set and a few more I snuck in 'cause I couldn't help myself.
I wasted so much time deciding which one to use and what to make it with. I decided just to play around and see what I could come up with. First I was amazed on how these cut. These will work in almost any die cutting machine. You may have to shim it with card stock or something depending on your machine/paper but I used the Cuttlebug and I didn't have to shim it at all. I have a couple more super cute and fun projects in the works but due to time and some well..some health issues I didn't finish in time :(

I cook a lot and I am always giving out goodies to neighbors and friends so I decided to make some simple tags and cards to give along with it. Here are some pics of the projects I came up with:

I used the FROM MY KITCHEN cartridge to cut out the cutting board. The sentiment is from PK-408 Gingerbread Doll Set

I cut the Igloo out from the Create A Critter cartridge and welded it in my Design Studio to make it into a card.

This is a PlaceCard that I made with the Christmas Cheer placecard feature. You can use any placecard feature or just fold a piece of paper in half!! I did it in blackout so it was just basically a blank template. I then sewed around the DP and added those adorable dies.

Let's Say "HOWDY" to Miss Boni!

OMG! My fellow Sistah from the Sisterhood has finally branched out on her own and started creating her very own stamps. They are hysterical! What I love about them is that they are a bit different and come with some really funny sentiments...not something you see everyday and that's what makes them FABULOUS and right up my alley!!! I had a hard time picking which one I wanted to do first. If you want to see what we are all talking about over at the Sisterhood hop on over to FireCracker Designs by Pamela and take a peek. She will be adding some more soon...sooner than later we hope!! Boni's own blog is called Bonibleaux Designs and the stamps that she is currently selling can be found on the FCD website here.

This week at the Sisterhood Of Crafters we are showcasing some of Boni's wonderful stamps. We decided to base the challenge around her stamps which right now are more "manly" based. So the challenge this week is to make a "man inspired" project/card. Whether that includes an image of a man, it's for a man or however you interpret 'a manly challenge'. Quick Graduation card & Prom Layout

My friend had a graduation party for her son yesterday so as part of her gift I gave her a coffee table scrapbook. It only had a few pics of her son's Senior Prom in it because that was all I had. I told her I need pics of her other 2 children to fill the book up. Since I was running late as usual I had to come up with a quick card for him. I tried to get the inspiration from the invitations she sent out which were very simple but classy. Sorry about the pics being so bad...I had to take them literally as I was walking out the door.

Let's get Animated with Practical Scrappers!

This week over at Practical Scrappers they have a super fun challenge for you all! The challenge was to use Animation or Cartoon characters on your project. I knew immediately what I was going to do. My son was obessesed with the movie Cars. He loved anything and everything about Cars. So of course we had a Cars themed birthday. The pictures were not the greatest but that's all I got. I swore I was giong to get better pictures next time but sadly I never got the chance. I bought a paper pack from Creative Memories a couple of years ago on a Crop with a Cars theme. I never used it so I broke that out and used that as the DP as well as a bunch of stickers and embellishments that I bought awhile ago to do his pages.

I added some screw brads in the corner of the top photos which I thought were cute. He loved to build things...I was convinced he would of been an engineer. One time he asked me to put together a toy for him and I couldn't do it. I told him that he was going to have to wait until Daddy came home. He said "Mommy, give me 'structions". By golly he laid the 3ft long instructions out and he put it together all by himself. I remember laughing that I was just shown up by a 5 year old but it made me so proud. Still don't know how he managed to do it when he couldn't read!!!
